    AC86u 2.4GHz max speed 144Mbps

If you're at two meters.I strongly suggest, you use 5 Ghz. You will get a reported speed of 867 mbit/s and real (measured) speeds above 300 mbit/s.

Hostname not returned in IPv6 DNS query responses

Note that you can't use the ipv6 address to access the router's web page!

TIP: How to get your public ipv4 address programmatical

Thanks, I learned a new thing. Yes, hardware acceleration is turned on. For others: go to 'Tools', look for 'HW Acceleration'. If it's turned on, change your script to: interface-name=publicip.local,vlan2 and it works again.

TIP: How to get your public ipv4 address programmatical

Well, I assume it is, why wouldn't it be (and how can I check? Also, I don't see any dnsmasq errors in log.

TIP: How to get your public ipv4 address programmatical

It suddenly doesn't work anymore ! ! ! Now, when I type: nslookup publicip.local I get: *** No internal type for both IPv4 and IPv6 Addresses (A+AAAA) records available for publicip.local *** What's going on here? I used to work fine. Has there been any change to dnsmasq, that has disabled...

TIP: How to get your public ipv4 address programmatical

Believe it not, a few people actually use something called Windows :D

TIP: How to get your public ipv4 address programmatical

That is correct, in that case the router doesn't know the public IP. You will have to use the traditional method of quering a server on the internet

TIP: How to get your public ipv4 address programmatical

Dnsmasq must be configured on the router, that's connected to the internet, then it will work whereever you local dns works. I just tested on a VirtualBox VM, connected to host via NAT. The host is connected to the router using NAT, too. It works fine.

TIP: How to get your public ipv4 address programmatical

Of course you can open the WebUI to get your public ip address, but how about getting it programmatical? Actually, it's simple, just add this line to '/jffs/configs/dnsmasq.conf.add': interface-name=publicip.local,eth0/4 Now you can call: nslookup publicip.local or use for instance .Net's...

Can't login via SSH after upgrading from stock firmware

Even worse, if you copy and paste your password longer than 16 chars, then you have no clue whatsoever, that it's truncated. I actually think , Asus should allow a much stronger password, a 16 character password can easily be 'brute force' attacked, if you allow internet access to the Webui.

Can I Block Specific Devices from getting IPv6 Address?

Yes, that will affect all devices. You can MANUALLY give the other devices an ipv6 address, then all should work.

Can I Block Specific Devices from getting IPv6 Address?

How about turning OFF router announcment? Then it won't get a prefix from the router.

Is this how a DOS-attack looks like in log?

In that thread, you suggest to turn 'DOS protection' OFF. Obviously I won't see any 'DOS attack' messages then. Well, if it isn't a DOS attack, it's definitely a bug. We're talking about many thousands of calls (500 per second), no code should do that. Now, I'm not really worried, after all the...

Is this how a DOS-attack looks like in log?

Yesterday I happened to log into my router and saw a huge CPU usage (about 90% on one core). I then looked in the log and found this. Is that a DOS-attack going on here? Jul 8 22:04:14 kernel: net_ratelimit: 475 callbacks suppressed Jul 8 22:04:19 kernel: net_ratelimit: 492 callbacks...

What the bew ntp daemon's update interval?

I have a simple question, how often does this new ntp client synchronize the router's clock?

How can I browse the router's webui interface with Ipv6 address in browser?

Well, that's a shame, it should be possible. I can browse my nas (a WD MyCloudEX2) with dns name, ipv4 address and ipv6 address! But I guess, I will have to use that for testing then.

How can I browse the router's webui interface with Ipv6 address in browser?

Router: RT-AC68U, firmware: merlin 384.3 I have implemented Ipv6 on my Network (my ISP supports Tunnel 6rd). This works fine and I can pass the tests from http://test-ipv6.com/ (10/10) and http://ipv6-test.com/ (19/20 - only reverse lookup fails). However I can't browse the router's web ui using...

Lan DHCPv6 should be an option when selecting Tunnel 6rd

Router: ASUS RT-AC68U On Ipv6 page in the GUI, you can select either 'Native' or one of the tunnels. When I select 'Native' (or 'Static') I get options to choose between 'Stateless' and 'Stateful' which enables DHCPv6 on LAN as shown here: However, if you choose 'Tunnel 6rd', then there's no...
