    Wow Asus is being stubborn with having just one 2.5 GBe port on both those routers. I have to be stubborn with my wallet as well then. I need a budget Wifi 6E with two 2.5 gbe ports ($300 range). Guess these companies are going to nickel and dime customers under the garb of chip shortage.

    A year ago, WPA3 wasn't allowed and router changed encryption to WPA2 if we added a node. WPA3 allowed for AiMesh now?

    That's only for you. Here it's working as advertised. Why don't you do a full reset from ssh. Remove node first ssh admin@192.168.50.1 (Whatever is your router's IP) enter password and pass the command in that ssh session: hnd-erase nvram Turn off the router from mains and not via reboot...

    Same setup and no issue here with AiMesh Reboot your primary router. Removing the node. Let it reset itsefl and reboot Add it back again.
