[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.62_1 is now available

I am not Merlin but here is a little info for question #4 that may be helpful: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/asuswrt-merlin-custom-firmware-for-asus-routers.7846/

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

More info here but this started with the 380.x code base. http://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-firmware-will-change-the-verification-method.32357/ ASUS RT-AC66R Firmware 3.0.0.4.380.3264 Releases note: ASUS has been dedicated to cooperate with third party developers to come up with more...

[CRITICAL] ASUS RT-AC5300 DEAD Failed Upgrade to 380.62_1

Your logs show DHCP issues on the WAN side. Have you reset your modem too? Perhaps power them both off and wait 5-10 minutes then power back on. Maybe the ISP is expecting a different MAC address so is refusing to give you an IP.

    ASUS RT-AC66U 3.0.0.4.380.4005

Interesting except Merlins version is based on 3831 not 4005. He back-ported a few items from 4005 for the security items mentioned but otherwise its 3831. That would explain why Merlins OR 3831 work for you. No idea why 4005 doesn't though. Unless the wireless driver was updated in 4005 and...

    ASUS RT-AC66U 3.0.0.4.380.4005

You sure you have NAT acceleration enabled? Its under LAN>switch control tab. Some other settings disable that like QOS for one. Make sure that is enabled. Not sure why it would be different between 3831 and 4005 though if you are configuring it exactly the same.

    ASUS RT-AC66U 3.0.0.4.380.4005

A few times before (not this firmware) I had similar issue. Nothing seemed to resolve it even a GUI factory default. What finally worked was a NVRAM clear using the command line via telnet. No idea why the gui default or default using the WPS switch didnt work. Anyway after the telnet reset the...

    ASUS RT-AC66U 3.0.0.4.380.4005

SIP passthrough enabled in WAN settings>NAT passthrough tab?

    ASUS RT-AC66U 3.0.0.4.380.4005

I installed it on Saturday (9/10) so far no issues I am aware of. Granted I don't do a lot of complex stuff as just use as a default wireless router pretty much. Not noticing any speed decreases. Only tested via wireless (usually I test Ethernet as well after an update just haven't yet)...

    ASUS RT-AC88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.380.3941

Apparently that is due to the "auto" wireless mode setting. See Merlin's release notes for his latest firmware, (380.61). He changed that behavior in his build.

Did Asus pull support for the RT- AC56U?

Yeah I know that. Dang I have the AC66R but didn't even think to look there for the AC56. Thanks! That is weird as usually the U versions have updates when the R versions don't. Oh well .

Did Asus pull support for the RT- AC56U?

Where exactly are you finding this firmware? Only thing on their site is the beta 380.2695.

Optimizing wireless settings of RT-AC66U with ASUSWRT-Merlin 380.59

Add additional information or a new post. It will show it up in the main list as something new so someone will most likely check it out. However if there are no answers...well maybe no one has an answer :)

    RT-AC66U needs rebooting daily

All Windows updates applied? Last few patch Tuesdays addressed wifi issues/stability. I would also remove all connections and reconnect them after a reboot. Been running Windows 10 since its beta with an AC66 and no real issues with wifi to speak of for a while now. I will say I recently had...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Well perhaps John or someone else can chime in but 17.8 didn't seem to break anything from 17.5 if that helps. You can always go back too if you find something in your particular setup that doesn't work as expected.

See post #1 for the changelog from 17E5 to 17E8. V18 is still in beta but there is info /link to those changes as well in post #1.

Even with the latest (380.3831)? I know you could with the previous 380 build.
