[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Any reason for the LAN speed to drop substantially with v17? Plugged in I am now only getting around 200mbs on a 1gb connection. Direct connect to modem 850-900 mbs. I cant totally recall but I was getting 500-600 previously I believe. (had a 30/30 connection that they somehow provisioned...

Ah got it. Thanks guys! ( I do have a few static assigned BTW) was just fooling around with the starting point to make room for the statics I want to use and saw this and questioned it.

I see what you are saying as far as it starting beyond the starting point. So effectively nothing will be assigned below 50 with this starting point assigned but anything up to .254 may randomly appear. And yeah I understand those addresses are valid but old dlink would start at the 1st...

Seems that the DHCP starting range is being ignored. Set for 192.168.1.50 as the starting address. But clients are getting .176. and .185 and so on.

Yes you can go to any version of this fork to another at any time.

I would look at any dust accumulation around vents or device placement and make sure its not overheating. Also look in administration>system and make sure there is no scheduled reboot set.

    iMessage not visible

Did you happen to update to iOS 9.3? That has closed some security holes in iMessage. Perhaps that has stopped you from being able to see messages coming across. Just a thought.

Dreadful AC66? Hmm mine works like a beast ;)

You probably should just update and test it. This build has several fixes over E1.

From post 1 "A factory default reset is NOT required if coming from any level of the fork or Merlin 374.42 or 374.43 code. Coming from any other level does require a factory default reset after the code is loaded."

No need, you should be able to go directly to this fork. Reset defaults afterwards and should be good to go. However, John has mentioned there is a maintenance release he is working on for the weekend so may want to wait for that then do it. Also make sure your particular router is supported...

If you read post one it clearly states the released version. Any beta versions John posts a new message with specific links to those particular versions stating BETA. Not sure how that is confusing but......... Anyway nough said on this topic. In other news, this build is working well on...

No as long as you don't default it it should be fine. You could get a backup first though to be on the safe side. Should have one anyway technically :)

Johns fork in general. Each version pretty much remains the same other than security patches and a feature here and there. The wifi drivers stay the same so connectivity should be pretty stable across all versions of his fork.

I can get 200+ and even like 300 at times on iPhone 6s with AC66 and this fork. Laptop on wireless N (not AC) can get 90-100 pretty consistently. I would expect the AC68 could do the same. I would check the channel you are on with others around you using inssider and make sure that is not...

I agree, if he was using a N66 router but the webpage mentioned AC68U in the message then sounds like browser cache. Assuming he also has an AC68U router as well as the N66 both managed from the same browser/PC.

Here are a few areas of reference for you. This explains the "why's" that 40mhz could be bad especially in a crowded environment. If you live on a farm and no wifi networks anywhere then yes 40 mhz would be suitable. Part 1 Part 2 Fix slow wifi (see fix#5 specifically for this topic but 1-4...
