    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.52 is available

I get the same thing on AC66 using as router mode not AP but wireless log shows AP

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.52 is available

As Merlin stated, a bad cable causing re-transmits will effect the overall router. So if the wired connection is re-transmitting to a certain client for example then the router will be busy even for the other (including wireless) clients.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.52 is available

Well dang. Made be reboot after 27 days. (not since .51) HA :). Was on a mission to see how long. Anyway so far so good. Pretty painless upgrade. Wondering about the statement below. Seems the network map is definitely more responsive like a LOT. Rest of the UI seems a lot more snappy too. I...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.51 is out

Oh OK didn't realize they would keep same ver #. But I did notice the latest stock does have a different date wl0: Dec 2 2014 16:35:49 version 6.30.163.2002 (r382208) verses .51 shows wl0: Oct 17 2014 15:41:28 version 6.30.163.2002 (r382208). Seems I recall maybe .50 had the December date...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.51 is out

Well 18 days and 4 hrs uptime on AC66R and no issues. I typically had to restart wifi on laptop (intel 2230 card) from time to time due to extremely slow speed all of a sudden. Such that I had a bat file in a shortcut on desktop to do it easily. So far no issue with that in a while now...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.51 is out

Merlins is based on 3.0.0.4.378_4129 source code from Asus. There is no source released for the 4585 yet from what I understand. However if you look at the change logs for both you will fine Merlins .51 is pretty much up to date (at least with the security fixes). Of course all up to you, if...

Seems like you have answered your own question multiple times. @L&LD answered it too.

    Serious Bugs for the AC66U

What about heat? Is it in an area that perhaps its getting hot or limited air flow? Are the vents clogged with dust and dirt? Lots of folks here use those laptop cooling pads and set their routers on them. Works well and drops the temps a good 10c.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.51 is out

Yeah I have seen that. Not disagreeing there. The comment was that resetting defaults and clear nvram were not the same and clearing nvram does not reset defaults. As far as I have seen it does.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.51 is out

I don't follow that either. Everytime I have done it either via telnet (mtd-erase -d nvram) or WPS button all defaults are back and have to setup from initial wizard again. All settings have to be re entered as well (including time zone)

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.51 is out

Try another channel. I typically set ch 11 bit I am in an area with a LOT of networks out there and most are on auto so they change all over the place. When I start seeing this behavior I fire up inssider and take a look and sure enough someone's router ( usually a couple) is crossing over so...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.51 is out

Read earlier in this thread, post 160 that the N66 and AC66 were not totally 378.x compliant and several items don't work as expected. Firewall for iPv6 and parental controls were mentioned. ASUS still only issues 376.x firmware for those versions. This was a post from Merlin in response to...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.51 is out

So why is it so important to have an apostrophe in there? If its known to cause issues with routers, networks and other devices seems the best answer is to not have that in there as mentioned rather than reinventing everything else to accommodate that known issue. Perhaps you should learn how to...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.51 is out

Look at the changelog for both, Merlin is based on 4129 BUT has incorporated the security fixes from the latest. Plus typically he has some fixes that ASUS has not released yet both security and stability. Example the infosvr fix Merlin had before ASUS released anything.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.51 is out

The message to manually reboot came up on my AC66 so I would say yes. Just a simple power down worked fine for me.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.51 is out

What issue was that? I thought 378.50 was pretty solid on AC66 but seems once in a while on .50 wireless would slow to a crawl and wireless client reset would get it back working. Seems .51b1 definitely made for a more consistent wireless connection as far as speed. Been running it since...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.51 Beta 1 is out

for Any RT-AC66 users out there running this version? Seems I am getting a weird delay at times in certain places on certain websites. Like only part of the site all of a sudden stops loading for 30-45 seconds after an otherwise fast initial load. Several different sites I regularly visit seem...

    Like the new site!

Yes definitely improved and glad it's using a responsive design too. A lot better for mobile devices now! Nice fresh easy to read and use. Well done.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.51 Beta 1 is out

Oh I wasn't complaining. Just stating an observation. I saw where a reset was not needed for this version but wondered if on the AC66 it was needed due to the driver being changed back to the previous version. Jury still out for me to see which was the most stable. 378.50 was pretty solid for me...
