    News RT-AC68U End of Life Announced by Asus

    Not trying to be a jerk, but is there any point? Is there a function you think might be fixed, or security update that is highly important?

    People scamming Amazon by returning old routers

    Interesting. It seems that the scenario you describe could only happen with previously returned items. There shouldn't be any 4-year old AC86Us lying around at Amazon, so someone would have to be smuggling in old stuff. The AC86U power supply was also switched out with the AX86U Pro power...

    People scamming Amazon by returning old routers

    I've been purchasing Amazon used RT-AX86U Pros to replace my remaining two EOL'ed AC86U's and to replace my BIL's EOL'ed AX68U. I figured that with the AX86U Pro form-factor matching that of many other ASUS routers, there was a chance that a used unit would be something other than an AX86U Pro...

    What lease time are you using?

    Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

    Out of curiosity, I did a bit of reading on PMF and WPA3. It turns out that any newly certified wifi device must support WPA3 and require PMF for WPA3, so it seems that if WPA2/WPA3 is selected, then PMF should be set to "Capable".

    Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

    No wifi issues with either of my setups. I was only suggesting that 388.7 alpha1 may be a solution to the wifi issue people described with 388.6_2.

    Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

    I'm curious if any of you with wifi issues have tried the second build of 388.7_alpha1. On my GT-AX6000 main/AP combo, I had zero wifi issues when updating from 388.6_beta1 to the second build of 388.7_alpha1. Also no wifi issues on my new RT-AX86U Pro main/AP combo which began operation...

    AX86U Pro vs AX88U vs AXE7800

    Yep. That's part of the reason I went with GT-AX6000 at my home where I have a wired multgig network with a NAS to backup every device. I can't believe that ASUS charges so much for the EVA edition. I keep thinking that those are going to be harder to sell than a regular GT-AX6000, and at...

    RT-AC86U -> RT-AX86U Pro Review

    Maybe I didn't describe it well enough in my original post - households that interact primarily with the internet and don't have a need for >1 gbps data speeds on their LAN (if they even have a LAN).

    RT-AC86U -> RT-AX86U Pro Review

    Some details - I decided to upgrade my vacation home wifi from an RT-AC86U main/AP combo to an RT-AX86U Pro main/AP combo. My AC86U main/AP combo have worked flawlessly for 3 years (with the exception of the ubiquitously inaccurate client list), but the EOL announcement of the AC86U along with...

    AX86U Pro vs AX88U vs AXE7800

    Aren't these three all virtually hardware identical?

    [ 3004.388.7 alpha 1 Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

    Second build of alpha1 installed on my RT-AX86U Pro main/AP combo at my cabin. All ok after getting through the setup with these new routers.

    [ 3004.388.7 alpha 1 Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

    Second alpha installed in my GT-AX6000 main/AP combo this morning. Working fine so far with DNSSEC and DoT operating in strict mode.

    News RT-AC68U End of Life Announced by Asus

    One of very few exceptions. Unfortunate for those people who purchased, but as others have said, this would be the typical supported life of a router from another brand.

    Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

    The accuracy of the client list has been problematic for many years. The list eventually stops working entirely on my RT-AC86U running 386.12_4. It appears that the list is delayed on my GT-AX6000 running 388.6, so some improvement appears to have been made.

    News RT-AC68U End of Life Announced by Asus

    RT-AC68U supported for 10+ years. RT-AX88U supported for 9 years. RT-AC86U supported for 7 years. Is there any other wifi router manufacturer that supported 3 routers simultaneously for this long? Of course no company is perfect. The RT-AX68U was supported for only 3 years. The GT-AC5300...

    News RT-AC68U End of Life Announced by Asus

    Its not so much the wifi capability as it is the hardware platform. As already mentioned, a few AX models with the older hardware are part of the EOL announcement.

    [ 386.13 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

    I just noticed this alpha build thread this morrning. Does this change fix the issue with network map not updating after a period of time? Would be rather ironic if this is finally fixed when the EOL announcement was just made by ASUS.

    News RT-AC68U End of Life Announced by Asus

    It was a good run for my 4x AC86U. Its a bit of a bummer to see these the AC86U EOL'ed when their performance is still excellent. Two were replaced with GT-AX6000s about a year ago because I got the itch to tinker with something new, but two are still in service. Bummer to see that the AX68U...

    Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

    ok, I see what you mean. I didn't not use explicit VLAN in the official. I used the guest network option which utilizes VLAN.
