Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

3.0.0.6 is next generation firmware that is being discussed in this thread. I was talking about the current official which is 3.0.0.6.102_21514. I ran that for a few months on my GT-AX6000 main/AP combo for a few months before reverting to Merlin 388.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

So the two CVEs addressed with 388.6_2 are only DOS vulnerabilities, correct? DNSSEC security not compromised?

Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

My recollection is that the current official 3.0.0.6 also supports VLAN in AP mode. But its a bit buggy in the regard that it had to be configured with stock settings in order to work. I would hope that in this beta, VLAN works properly.

Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

My 2x GT-AX6000 have never exhibited any hardware issues. They have worked great with Merlin 388.

Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

Thanks. Why doesn't ASUS at least upgrade to OVPN 2.5, if not 2.6?

Beta Asus GT-AX6000 beta firmware version 9.0.0.6_102_33874 (2024/02/23)

Can someone who trying check what version of OpenVPN is being used? Would also be interesting to know what version of dnsmasq is being used.

    GT-AX6000 is EOL?

    You mean 3.0.0.6, correct?

    ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 finally announced

Unless you have a need for any of the new features in the 3.0.0.6 branch, go with Merlin 388.6. Its stable and works great.

    GT-AX6000 is EOL?

There is no reason for ASUS to EOL the GT-AX6000. The hardware design is the same as all the Pro models, and it runs the latest Linux kernel used by ASUS routers like all the Pro models. ASUS is just taking their time with 3.0.0.6 updates. Also note that Merlin's 388.6 release contains an...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 Beta is now available

388.6_b1 running on my GT-AX6000 main/AP combo for 24 hours without issue. It took a few tries to get the Let's Encrypt certificate applied by doing the "auto" approach to trigger. It appears that the process was waiting for the DDNS assignment to complete which was delayed due to a busy DDNS...

    [ 3004.388.6 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Without a doubt I hope that no one is using https to access their router from the WAN, but it is nevertheless a significant bug that has already caught at least one person. Or to put it another way, its easy to say that people shouldn't be using https to access their router from the WAN, but...

    [ 3004.388.6 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

This is a rarely used feature, but the bug is severe. Are you going to use this version of ASUS firmware, or wait for a fix? I guess it seems that sometimes, ASUS issues you a patch for specific bugs?

3 RT-AC68U's: AP Mode or AiMesh?

For me, having all wifi routers running the same FW is the key value of using Merlin FW on both the main and AP units. Then I only need to watch for FW updates from one source (Merlin). Similarity of GUI among all the routers is another reason, although routers running in AP mode only have a...

3 RT-AC68U's: AP Mode or AiMesh?

The AC86U is a significantly more powerful router than the AC68U in every respect. Perhaps the biggest advantage of the AC86U over the AC68U is that the AC86U has a larger amount of NVRAM which has become important because newer ASUS and Merlin FWs have a tendency to max out the AC68U NVRAM...

RT-AX86U - system log spam from Tuya Smart device

I've found that any wifi device that has the same name as the router host name (in the LAN IP) section will constantly get bumped from the wireless network.

Solved LAN client running qBittorrent crashes gt-ax6000 (running Merlin 3004.388.4)

As I suspected the GT-AX6000 is running a different Linux kernel than the other models you tried. https://www.snbforums.com/threads/kernel-versions-of-latest-routers-with-merlins-fw.87567/post-875020

Solved LAN client running qBittorrent crashes gt-ax6000 (running Merlin 3004.388.4)

There was a recent thread on the different Linux kernels being used on each router. Does the AX6000 have a different kernel than the other routers you tried?

Solved LAN client running qBittorrent crashes gt-ax6000 (running Merlin 3004.388.4)

I haven't gone back to re-read this thread so this could have already been asked - have you tried other BT applications? I've never had a problem with qBT, but I prefer the GUI of Transmission, and its been rock solid on my network.
