Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Manual DHCP assignment is handled by recognizing the MAC address of the device that you want to have a custom IP address. Many new devices now have a feature that sends a random MAC addrress to the wifi router to limit tracking. This feature is typically enabled by default. Your Apple TV is...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

2.4 GHz wifi on my AC68U became unusable after upgrading from 386.12 to 386.12_4. What I observed to be happening is that shortly after a device joins the 2.4 GHz network, the router decides to de-authenticate the device, and the wifi password needs to be entered again to get back on the...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.5 is now available

I recall you mentioning this before. I've never seen it happen with my AX6000 on any firmware, so something unique to your router configuration

Release ASUS GT-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_21514

Gotta love the optimism. I'm thinking that within 30 days would be a safe expectation.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.5 is now available

Successful upgrade from 388.4 to 388.5 this morning on my GT-AX6000 main/AP combo. Nothing odd in the initial logs.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

All good after 1 week. Martinski's script to periodically restart ASD is doing a good job of preventing ASD crashes. Without the script, ASD crashes frequently at random intervals ranging from a few minutes to a few hours. Interestingly, restarting ASD every two hours with Martinski's script...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Martinski's script (which is working for me) is here: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asuswrt-merlin-386-12-is-now-available-for-ac-models.86647/post-875119 However, your log doesn't indicate that asd is crashing. Looks more like there are runtime errors. A few people have noted asd/dcd...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

After 32 hours, everything appears to be the same as running 386.12_0. No changes in the log entries or wireless behavior, and solid performance. asd continues to routinely crash on my AP router, but not the main router. No obvious effect on router behavior. Tomorrow morning, I will try...

    [ 3004.388.5 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

Its interesting to contemplate what the stock ASUS firmware would be like if there was no ASUS-Merlin.

Yeah, will be interesting to see if ASUS provides another 388 FW update for the "pro" stuff. I guess a good indicator that there will be another 388 FW update for the pro stuff is that a 388 FW update was posted for the ZenWiFi Pro XT12 a few weeks ago.

Just installed 386.12_4 on my AC86U main/AP combo. I'll post my experience in a few days.

This thread is pretty quiet, so seems that this alpha is working pretty well. I may have to try it this weekend.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

I don't run any add-ons have not made any config changes to my AC86Us in a long time. I'm only seeing the asd crash on one of my two AC86Us, and that particular router has been very unchanged for a long time and has very simple settings (it has always operated in AP mode). Definitely something...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.12 is now available for AC models

Thanks. Should be better than letting asd crash. If I'm still seeing asd crashes after upgrading to 12_2, I'll implement this.

One other question for you regarding OVPN 2.6 - Is it possible to compile the OVPN DCO kernel module to run on our routers to allow DCO support, and if yes, are doing that? Or planning to do it?

Your version notes state that fast-io is now enabled by default for "OpenVPN servers". Do you really mean its only enabled by default when operating in server mode, or is fast-io enabled by default when acting either as server or client? Your response to @kuki68ster 's question appears to...
