Thoughts on the linksys ea9500 v2?

There's doesn't seem to be any option to enter a static IPv6 address anywhere, though you can do this for IPv4. Doesn't affect me but it might be worth asking Linksys on the Linksys forums for clarification.

    TX Power Transmission of DSL-AC68U

Really? Are you saying non-DFS 1000mW channels are perfectly legal in UK? Can you provide evidence which supports this? I think you'll find that one of the reasons why members are not allowed to discuss certain forks of Asus firmware on SNB is that certain firmware(s) easily allow you to change...

    Wireless Router Purchasing help

Based on your requirements, the Netgear R7800 or Synology RT2600AC would be ideal for you as these are the 2 best routers for wifi coverage/range. You shouldn't need any additional APs but obviously that's not guaranteed.

Best wireless router with fast CPU for high VPN throughput?

    Maybe try a Netgear R9000 (X10) running Kong's DD-WRT firmware?

Thoughts on the linksys ea9500 v2?

@itchyscratchy Did the EA9500V2 turn out to be any good?

Thoughts on the linksys ea9500 v2?

Nice! Btw to get the optimum wifi performance on the EA9500, switch off 'band steering'' so that you can manually choose which of the two 5ghz bands you want your devices to connect to. Manually select an appropriate channel on all 3 bands and select 'auto' as channel width. Let us know how...

Thoughts on the linksys ea9500 v2?

OP, I have the EA9500V2 on my 300 Mbps FTTH line and its the best router I've ever owned for wifi coverage - I previously had the Netgear X10 which also is very good but the EA9500V2 is better IMHO. Sure, the EA9500V2 has the same internals as the ROG GT-AC5300 and AC86U but as most people will...

    11ax is dead. It's now Wi-Fi 6.

Personally I think 802.11ax sounds sexier than Wifi 6

DSL-AC88U - Firmware maturity question and stability vs DSL-AC68U

Yeah if your TalkTalk router supports bridge mode (modem only mode), then you could hook up an Asus RT-AC86U to it. Otherwise a Huawei HG612 vdsl2 modem can be bought for only £10 on eBay.

DSL-AC88U - Firmware maturity question and stability vs DSL-AC68U

OP, Stay away from the DSL-AC68U as this router is notoriously unstable in the UK, especially on vdsl2 (FTTC) Openreach based lines. This router is well known to cause frequent disconnections and will almost certainly cause the FTTC DLM to band your line which can be almost impossible to remove...

    AP/router combos vs all-in-one?

It mainly comes down to what you're looking to get out of your router. If you're looking to use advanced features such as a VPN clent/server then use a separate/standalone router as not many combined modem routers offer such features. On the other hand, if you just want the router to do the...

If you only had $100 to spend on a wireless AC gigabit router, what would you buy?

The Phicomm K3C @ $76 from Amazon.com is great value for money, considering you're getting an AC1900 class router with decent performance.

    Synology RT2600AC + Intel AC7265

Not really, the 867 Mbps is the wifi link rate and actual throughput will be nowhere near that. FWIW I have the Intel 8265 card in my notebook and I more or less get the same performance as you wrt wifi performance on the notebook. You've really got nothing to worry about :)

    XR700

I would say the Archer C5400X is more on a par with the Asus GT-AC5300 and Linksys EA9500V2, hardware wise.

    MU-MIMO USB ADAPTERS?

Its Qualcomm based. It uses the Qualcomm IPQ8065 as its CPU (1.7Ghz dual core) and a pair of QCA9990's for the radios. https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Linksys_LAPAC2600

    MU-MIMO USB ADAPTERS?

Mu-Mimo seems to work quite well on my Linksys EA9500v2 which uses BCM4366E radios. This is based on using the Asus PCE-AC88 PCI card and my Lenovo Thinkpad X1 5th gen notebook both of which are Mu-Mimo equipped.

Netgear Nighthawk Pro XR500 is better than R9000?

Are you sure the XR700 has a Plex server built-in? The product blurb doesn't mention it.... https://www.netgear.com/npg/xr700/

Netgear Nighthawk Pro XR500 is better than R9000?

Correct, in that case stick with the R9000.

    XR700

So is the XR700 just a re-designed R9000 with Duma OS bolted on?

    DSL-AC55U vs DSL-AC52U

As you appear to be in the UK, I strongly recommend against buying an Asus combined modem/router (ie DSL variant). Most Asus modem/routers in the UK, incl the 2 you've mentioned, use the very unstable Mediatek DSL chipset which is known to totally mess your DSL connection, especially on FTTC...
