    Asus DSL-AC68U Gaming QoS

Yeah you can use pretty much any vdsl2 modem with plusnet FTTC so no issues there.

    Asus DSL-AC68U Gaming QoS

Thanks. The DSL-AC68U uses a Mediatek DSL chipset which is extremely unstable on UK FTTC lines, sooner or later it will almost certainly cause the DLM to kick in and band (cap) your line, if it hasn't already done so. If you're happy to spend money on a new router & want to stick with Asus, go...

    Asus DSL-AC68U Gaming QoS

Are you located in UK? If so, the DSL-AC68U is probably the worst router to use on a VDSL2 (FTTC) line......

Best AC router with good transfer speeds for attached NAS?

By the same token you could also argue a 1 Gig FTTP/H connection is a not typical home speed anywhere in the world. I don't know what the prices are in other countries but in the UK, a 1 Gig FTTP service over the Openreach network (UK's largest) is around £300 or $360 per month. If someone was...

Best AC router with good transfer speeds for attached NAS?

My router sits on the ground floor and the desktop PC with the 4x4 wifi card sits upstairs. There are 2 walls/1floor in between, however they are wafer thin as are all new builds in UK.

Best AC router with good transfer speeds for attached NAS?

Seems to be possible if the right hardware (4x4) is used at both ends. My desktop PC card with an Asus PCE-AC88U 4x4 wifi card connects at the full 2.1 Gb/s to my Linksys EA9500 router, with actual throughput around 1 Gb/s when doing file transfers. My internet is 'only' 330 Mbps but if I had 1...

Cheap AC router with custom firmware support

Might be worth considering a Phicomm K3 for $40-$50. Hardware wise the K3 is on a par with Asus RT-AC88U so its no slouch, with the bonus that you can install OpenWRT on it: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/phicomm-k3-not-k3c-discussion.49109/

stock linksys EA9500 how to create subnet to another (VPN) router

What's the make/model of your VPN router? Really bizarre you cannot change its default gateway IP from 192.168.1.x to 192.168.2.x. However you can easily do this on the EA9500 (i also have this), so might be worth changing the default gateway IP of the EA9500 to 192.168.2.x (from 192.168.1.1)...

    Looking for Broadcom VDSL Modem

Buy a new/second hand Huawei HG612 from fleabay. Despite their age, they are still rock solid Broadcom vdsl modems and arguably the best out there.

Need a fast router for streaming movies in a 2BHK home at budget price

Oh yes you can! The Phicomm K3 is basically the cheaper version of Asus RT-AC88U priced at ~ $50. Not to be confused with the K3C which uses Intel radios and isn't as good as the K3. OP, Amazon US are selling the Phicomm K3 for $60 and deliver to India. Its a superb router ( i have one) &...

News NETGEAR Announces Tri-Band AX RAX200 Router

Its seems Amazon UK have the tri-band RAX200 for sale now...until you take a closer look (ie probably a listing error): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07P3FGKYD/?tag=smallncom-21

    4K wireless streaming +VPN+Kill switch+excellent wireless coverage

Perhaps not surprising you didn't get on well with the GT-AX11000 as its almost guaranteed to be riddled with bugs galore as it was released only 2 minutes ago (figuratively speaking). As VPN is a must for you, I would stick with Asus and forget about 802.11ax (wifi 6) if you don't have any...

Netgear Jaguar (Nighthawk X12) AX6000 Wireless Router

The Netgear Premier Membership Beta Program for the AX12 has been released. I don't think the take up will be very high at these prices:

News NETGEAR Stealthily Goes Public With Its Draft 11ax Routers

The Netgear AX12/RAX120 is now available for pre-order on Amazon US and Amazon UK for a cool $499.99 & £431.94 respectively. Due to be released on 9th April 2019.

Netgear 7800 vs Asus 86u vs Synology 2600 vs TP Link Archer 2300

I think you'll find router manufacturers only release new firmware to fix bugs and/or enable new features. I'm not aware of any router manufacturer who release new firmware just for the fun of it.

Thoughts on the linksys ea9500 v2?

Unfortunately the EA9500 (any version) isn't compatible with DD-WRT or any third party firmware so probably not a good idea to use one if you're looking for advanced router features, such as using OpenVPN on it. However for ordinary routing and wifi range/speeds, its a superb router and amongst...

Thoughts on the linksys ea9500 v2?

5ghz channels 140-165 aren't usually available in UK/EU, however I bought my EA9500V2 from USA which does offer such channels.
