Which of these ASUS router(s) should I buy?

Yes, the RT-AX86U is too expensive, unless I knew for sure one would be enough coverage. Is the AC86 better than the AX3000? Forgot to mention earlier, but the home is 1964 sq ft (two story). I'm trying to get coverage at the diagonal opposite end.

Which of these ASUS router(s) should I buy?

A friend has an RT-N66U router upstairs that at 2.4Ghz, barely reaches the other end of the house downstairs (and cuts out a lot there), so was thinking about buying two new ones for a mesh setup, but I'm thinking a newer ASUS router would have better coverage, so I would only need one. I did...

    RAX20 loses internet

I just connected an RAX20 for the first time yesterday, and while it took a long time to establish an internet connection, it finally did, and then worked as I tested it for half an hour. But when I tried it again a couple hours later, it had no internet connection, even after rebooting it and...

    Change channel?

Should I change the channel of my router (top of the list)? The two Roku's ("hidden network") are mine too.

    Mesh router with non-mesh router?

Since I posted that, I discovered that only certain versions of the AC66 are upgradable to AiMesh. So, instead swap the two AC66 routers in the image to AC68.

    RT-AC68 mesh?

I ask because there was one on ebay, and the seller said they were selling it because they upgraded to Mesh. But I thought it was upgradable to Mesh. https://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-Router-RT-AC68R-/203210602614

    RT-AC68 mesh?

Are all AC68 routers upgradable to support Ai-Mesh?

    Mesh router with non-mesh router?

    So will this work?

    Mesh router with non-mesh router?

I'm planning to get two mesh routers (probably ASUS), but need a 3rd router to be able to have an IPT work phone in a certain location. Considering speed isn't a concern with the 3rd router, can I use a non-mesh router I already have for that 3rd location to wirelessly connect to one of the...

    Which firmware?

I'm looking for firmware advice for two different situations. I guess I should have made them separate posts. As for range, I have read on SNBForums that some firmware can help. ie: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/unhappy-with-asus-rt-n66u.66381/post-619909 Among others.

    Which firmware?

I'm looking to update the firmware on two RT-N66R routers (in two different locations) with different requirements. For one, I'm looking for the best range. Not concerned about speed. I've read some posts here that some firmware can help range. Current firmware is Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 For the...

    Which firmware for RT-N66R?

To me, it's saying otherwise. Am I missing something? "you may use my NVRAM SAVE/RESTORE utility (check for the latest version) to transfer your user settings from your current firmware to this fork."

    Which firmware for RT-N66R?

Thanks, guys. And the settings backup/restore will correctly transfer over settings to the new FW?

    Which firmware for RT-N66R?

I'm having a hard time deciding which firmware I should upgrade to for my RT-N66R. Which one should I use? It still has the Asus 3.0.0.4.380_3831 firmware. I'm not a big tweaker, else I probably wouldn't need to ask. *latest Asus *Merlin legacy 380.70 *john9527's latest fork (based on Merlin...
