After installing 1 TPLink AC1750 EAP245 to replace multiple AP's and seeing a performance increase for my guest network I decided to install the second EAP245 on my Home network as an extension next door. That is when I discovered the following problem. I have just upgraded the AP in my Home...

    Solved Ordered a couple of TP-Link EAP245v3's

No ...that would be a witchcraft update... Takes a perfectly good working system and f's it up... So maybe your right, just need to adjust the wording! :p It isn't his fault...I rarely ask for help..so I am unskilled at doing it.. Right or wrong I usually find whatever works

    Solved Ordered a couple of TP-Link EAP245v3's

Thank you coxhaus Already ordered a couple of Tp-Links I learned of their products by saving $50+ when I bought a modem for $18 around 2005. Others wanted $100+ I bought 2 and the first one never died... Maybe I will include Cisco in my shopping in the future... Often I find business equipment...

    Solved Ordered a couple of TP-Link EAP245v3's

Tech9 as I reread your statement above, the apparent errors concerning my current setup and I quote "4 single band routers used as AP's" isn't an error if you are referring to when I first created this network with consumer level Dlink routers (dhcp disabled and no poe ) stacked on top of one...

    Solved Ordered a couple of TP-Link EAP245v3's

HuH... You mad at me? I try not to take things out of context... My tech friend said he was really impressed with you recommending adding multiple ap's, in the other thread, and I took it to mean you were joking.. I hesitate to use my catch phrases here because, unlike me, others like to use...

    Solved Ordered a couple of TP-Link EAP245v3's

Tech9 had recommended a EAP245v3 in another thread.. I have found TP-Link to be fairly reliable and economical. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07NMZR3F1/?tag=smallncom-20 The instructions seem understandable...lol https://www.tp-link.com/ca/support/download/eap245/ I have poe adapters from other...

Multiple entries in log allocating the same ip to the same computer

Bro... It is the Telus (modem) wifi.. The more I know how it works the more I will need to know what to change.. It was my most obvious choice... I don't have to worry about Witchcraft 11 taking it out...lol If the network slows down because of use...buy a faster speed is an option.. My Ap's...

Multiple entries in log allocating the same ip to the same computer

Really? Happens allot in life. You learn by doing, which supports the theory... The more you know, the more you don't know... Happens to anyone who attempts to learn by experimentation.

Multiple entries in log allocating the same ip to the same computer

Hi Tech9 Just to let you know... William Cooper is the name of the AP (modem WiFi) All of my ap's are shutoff. The guests have been given access. None of my equipment is between them and the internet. Turned on the firewall in the modem Hopefully they don't break the internet...lol Oh... I...

Multiple entries in log allocating the same ip to the same computer

Since I can't find reliable info on the max devices that can connect...and I don't know how long they will last at the mercy of Witchcraft 11 o_O I think the simplest and quickest solution is going to confirm the Telus modem settings concerning firewall and log. Rename the SSID something...
