AdGuardHome AdGuard Home fails to start after reboot

    As @SomeWhereOverTheRainBow stated, there's no AdGuard log in /var/log. # ls -lah /opt/var/log/ drwxr-xr-x 3 diasdm root 4.0K May 7 00:05 . drwxr-xr-x 8 diasdm root 4.0K May 14 04:00 .. drwxr-xr-x 2 diasdm root 4.0K Apr 2 13:22 chrony -rw------- 1 diasdm...

AdGuardHome AdGuard Home fails to start after reboot

Router: RT-AX86U - 386.5.2 AdGuard Home: 1.5.2 - build Release Sometimes, when I restart the router, AdGuard simply doesn't start. About every 3 router reboots, 1 AdGuard doesn't start. When that happens, I manually start the service and it just starts with no issues...

    DHCP leases and connected clients

Great insights, guys! So, as those verifications are not accurate as I would hope them to be, I take it that they are not that relevant... right?

    DHCP leases and connected clients

Sometimes I check how many leases DHCP has issued using this command. cat /var/lib/misc/dnsmasq.leases | wc -l That doesn't really tell me if those clients are connected or not. So, to check how many connected clients I have, I try this: arp -a | awk '$4!="<incomplete>"' | wc -l The thing is...

    IPv6 precedes IPv4 translation

good tip. I've switched to init-start as well

    IPv6 precedes IPv4 translation

As I mentioned previously, it was a mistake. I thought it was updating but it was actually an old IPv6 that I manually added and forgot to remove.

    IPv6 precedes IPv4 translation

The router has no gai.conf file, but we can simply add it, and that seems to favor IPv4. In my testing, I could see a change while using nslookup and netcat. Before adding gai.conf: # nslookup ipv6-test.com Server: 127.0.0.1 Address 1: 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain Name...

    IPv6 precedes IPv4 translation

It seems gethostbyname() is deprecated, but some apps might still use it, I guess. As for getaddrinfo function, it seems most Linux dists use the /etc/gai.conf file to configure IP precedence. So, by setting a "precedence" parameter, I can prefer IPv4. With a Linux machine, I'll use ipv6.com...

    IPv6 precedes IPv4 translation

Not really a DDNS issue indeed. Still, for a domain with both IPv4 and IPv6 the router translates IPv6 first. That was my issue. If IPv6 was updated by DDNS as well, it would not be an issue.

    IPv6 precedes IPv4 translation

I made a mistake. I thought it was updating but it was actually an old IPv6 that I manually added and forgot to remove.

    IPv6 precedes IPv4 translation

What a great discussion we have here. Despite IPv6 rise world-wide, I guess IPv6 DDNS out-of-the-box implementation is not ready for Asus Routers. Therefore, I can not reference a dynamic IPv6 public address with a domain name.

    IPv6 precedes IPv4 translation

I forgot to mention that both ends use Asus routers. The remote DDNS name was set using an AX86U, and my end also uses the same router. The example above was taken from a asus router, not Windows. Actually, the remote AAAA record was set by No-IP automatically. Not sure why. I managed to delete...

    IPv6 precedes IPv4 translation

I'm using a RT-AX86U router with firmware version 386.5_2. I have a DDNS address that translates to both A and AAAA [not really] records. Therefore, I have IPv4 and IPv6 dynamically translated. # nslookup [ddns.name] Server: 127.0.0.1 Address 1: 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain Name...

Mini-UPS for simultaneous power supply of LTE-modem and ax86u

My ISP modem is rated for 12v-2A and my Asus router for 19,5V-2,31A. So, both devices add up to 69W of power requirements. I found the mentioned mini-UPS quite interesting, but there's another option that has more power, FX 5-12 Pro. To power 2 devices, I guess the latter is more appropriate...

    RT-AC86U not detecting a cable

I tried your steps one by one but it won't detect any ethernet cable. I guess I'm with a paper weight now. :(

    RT-AC86U not detecting a cable

I had a power outage and after that my AC86U router stopped detecting any cable I plug in, at any port, including WAN port. I can only access the router UI using Wi-Fi. While testing, by disabling and enabling my PC network adapter, the router logged these messages bellow once for LAN 4, but...

Which repositories are available for Merin and Entware?

Can I add multiple sources to this repository conf file? Like a custom repository. What would be the sintax?

    AC86U router temperature

By reading "phy_tempsense" and using Merlin's formula, we can match the frontend's temperature, indeed. I also would like to know why change WL command output with a formula. Looking into "WL" command's help, I could not find any reference to "phy_tempsense" command. I found a similar document...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker v4.2.x (see new thread for 4.3.x)

I see. Yes, I can update those counter by selecting the manual update option, by using the [semi]auto-update option or by commanding the update from CLI. These are all manual actions. What I was searching for was a native source for those parameters that would be updated more often and...

I'm not sure what you mean... My "Auto-update" is already on.
