Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker v4.2.x (see new thread for 4.3.x)

I'm trying to monitor Diversion ad-blocking statistics by reading diversion.conf and filtering the following parameters. blockedDomains adsBlocked adsWeek adsLastCount adsCounter These parameters seem to be updated every 12h or when ads-counter auto-update is On and we access Diversion's UI. I...

Asus Merlin Router with Zabbix Agent

I've updated Zabbix template for Asus Merlin and it now includes monitoring of Conmon and NTPMerlin scripts. It is just a simple monitoring of the same data shown at WebUI, but now stored at Zabbix database. It is available at Github. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks.

    AX86U internal antenna orientation/direction

@chatr Thanks a lot for those pictures. I see there are some side tabs that secure both side of the case. Unfortunately they are incredibly tight and I'm just too afraid of forcing too much and they break up.

    SNMP - AX88u

Just to add up. I use a mini usb 3 flash drive in my RPi and it serves my monitoring tools like a charm; with a passive cooling case. It is very discrete and much faster than an SDcard. No hick ups whatsoever. As for the router, Zabbix Agent can collect basically any data and offloads it to the...

    AX86U internal antenna orientation/direction

I see. I'm interested on how to open it but couldn't find much. It seems there are only a few pictures of AX86U internals, but no information on how to open it besides the screws.

    AX86U internal antenna orientation/direction

@Qbcd How did you open the router? I removed the 2 screws from the back, behind the sticker, and all the bottom ones, but could not loose any side. I don't wanna break any bracket or something like that. Do you have more pictures opening the router?

ntpMerlin Many DNS querys for NTP

WOW! I totally forgot that. I was using Network Monitoring with that ntp server. It is now off and there's no more excessive querys. Thanks a lot Dave

ntpMerlin Many DNS querys for NTP

    @EmeraldDeer Here's my configuration. Most of it is default. # grep -E -v "^#|^!|^%|^;" /tmp/mnt/entware/entware/share/ntpmerlin.d/chrony.conf | sort -u allow 10.0.0.0/8 allow 172.16.0.0/12 allow 192.168.0.0/16 driftfile /opt/var/lib/chrony/drift dumpdir /opt/var/lib/chrony dumponexit local...

ntpMerlin Many DNS querys for NTP

I've tried that already. I set up "minpoll 7" to see if it would reduce queries, but didn't work.

ntpMerlin Many DNS querys for NTP

Thanks for the replys. I set Chrony to have "minpoll" with 2 to the 7th. So, I think it should give at least 2 minutes of gap between polling. But that's not what's happening. My current configuration is this: pool pool.ntp.org iburst prefer trust minpoll 7 maxsources 2 Chrony works as a...

ntpMerlin Many DNS querys for NTP

I was monitoring Dnsmasq log through Diversion's option and saw that my router's NTP is making a lot DNS querys. I'm using NTPMerlin with Chrony as NTP server and every 15s approximately it makes a new query. Here is an example of the many requests made. Enter term to filter by [q=Quit]...

Asus Merlin Router with Zabbix Agent

Sorry. I forgot to mention you need to reboot your router after creating those user files. I added this information to the first post. I'm glad it worked for you.

Asus Merlin Router with Zabbix Agent

As the error message states, you have not created a "zabbix" user. You could try two things: 1. Create a "zabbix" user. Follow the instructions at the beginning of this topic. 2. Or, you could allow root access for the agent. For this, open your configuration file. vi...

Asus Merlin Router with Zabbix Agent

If you "grep" your Zabbix Agent configuration file, I figure it might give you something like this. # grep -v -e "^#" -e "^$" /opt/etc/zabbix_agentd.conf LogType=system Server=[YOUR_OWN_ZABBIX_SERVER] StartAgents=1 Include=/opt/etc/zabbix_agentd.conf.d/ Please, show us how is your configuration...

Diversion Diversion in command line loads too slow

I'm having the same issue with the console UI after a new installment. It takes like 2 minutes to load the main command line menu. Any thoughts?

Diversion Lots of DNS queries with Diversion

Indeed it is. It sure helped me find those DNS queries. But I could not find an option to reduce log levels. Is there one?

Diversion Lots of DNS queries with Diversion

What I found so far is that Zabbix Agent queries DNS every time it sends data to the server if we set up "Server" or "ServerActive" parameter to a hostname/domain_name (which is what I did). There is no DNS cache implemented at Zabbix and, according to this request, it seems there won't be any...

Diversion Lots of DNS queries with Diversion

I stopped my router's Zabbix agent and the queries stopped as well. So I guess I found the culprit. Now I need to find the reason for that behavior

Diversion Lots of DNS queries with Diversion

It seems lots of people are experiencing this temperature rise after upgrading their router. As for the logs, what I don't get is that it keeps growing quite fast. Every second a bunch of "queries" show up, and mostly from 127.0.0.1. When I turn down 192.168.1.6 the queries stop. So it seems...
