RT-AC87U after 384.13_2 update ERROR: NVRAM usage

Ah, understood... given that, what is the least expensive model you'd recommend changing to? I use a Unifi AC-LR access point which handles most (25-30 devices) and thus my AC68P mostly acts as my Firewall/DHCP and services about 5 2.4Ghz clients at any given time these days.

RT-AC87U after 384.13_2 update ERROR: NVRAM usage

Guys I have this problem frequently. It seems other do also. Looks like a design flaw in ASUS to me. Anyway below is what my NVRAM looks like. I have 41 DHCP reservations and dont run ANY apps, ASUS native or otherwise. Do you guys see any "issues" here?... @asusrouter:/tmp/home/root# nvram...

    RT-AC5300 2.4GHz randomly switches to channel 0

My AC86U was working then after accidentally hitting the "Wi-Fi On/Off" button the Wifi would not come back on. I tried resetting and then reflashing in recovery mode... nothing helped. Anyone figure out a fix?

Using both AC68P & AC86U ... which best for Router?

I 've been using two AC68P in my house to get coverage. I just acquired a AC86U to replace one as I hear it has better speeds and also Smart Connect. Should I replace the AP (top floor, 3 level home) or the Router (bottom floor, basement) to get the best use of the 86U? I've only ran the native...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.12 Beta is now available

I've had this problem with .11_2 also... and wifi sucked big time, on all bands and any channel. I may need to roll back to .10 Trying 12b1 right now, was hoping it would fix the problem.

    [Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 is available

Anyone else having issues with Wifi stability and/or disconnects? Since moving from 384.10 to 384.11 my Wifi is WAY unstable. My wifi security cams were rock solid on .10 but jump on/off the network with .11 I have 3 AC68P's (1 Router + 2 AP mode) same SSIDs per radio. 5.0 GHz seems more...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.10 is now available

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.10 is now available

Updated my two RT-AC68U routers from 384.8_2 to 384.10_2 and now I have major problems with my devices communicating. Looks like 2 related issues... (1) router is 'tricking' the phone into thinking it has a fast connection (2) throughput is SUPER SLOW ... I only run my tablets/phones on 5ghz so...

AC68... AIMesh or stay with 3 separate APs?

I've been running 3 separate APs on Merlin : ethernet backhaul + all APs on run same SSIDs - I've added 9db antennas on 2 APs to increase distance (covers yard and further, for when at neighbor homes) Things work fine mostly but my Samsung S8 almost never switches APs, staying on ones even when...

    RT-AC5300 Wireless Info/Merlin and AiMesh

@OzarkEdge -- yes, ethernet backhaul. @Dave_90 -- yes, lots of problems in early daze. Routers falling offline, etc. If AIMesh is working properly I'd like to try again... meaning, its much better than the 3 "separate" routers with same SSID I'm using now. I just want better hand-off when I...

    RT-AC5300 Wireless Info/Merlin and AiMesh

I use separate SSID for 5ghz and 2.4ghz, with same SSIDs on all routers. Thinking I'll segment my wifi network by radio that way... 10x 1080p Cameras get 2.4ghz so the rest of the devices use 5ghz Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

    RT-AC5300 Wireless Info/Merlin and AiMesh

yes but Does it really work well? I have 3 AC68P routers across 4000sqft, 3 levels. I have them all on the same SSID and have some issues with AP switching - most of the time its not a big problem. If AIMesh is really working proper with AP switching then I might try it again. I did a while...

    Dual WAN Failover Reliability?

@peraburek Thank you for the excellent info. Question... I use Merlin, is it any better on that? I tried 4G Failover using Netgear LB2120 but it looks to have major issues. One already cost me $70 in 4G costs on the first day ... It didn't fail-back! Oddly, it seems there was no outage and...
