No encrypt certificate not working with DDNS service

@JohnnyGuitar I just tried enabling DDNS with asuscomm.com and all I get is DDNS Registration Result: Authentication failed and Server Certificate Status: Authorizing. I tried several different host names that appear to be available in the asus iplookup tool with the same failure. I see...

    VPNBook-Passwd.com w/ Sample Robot Script for ASUSWRT-Merlin

@elorimer I assume vpnbook's business model is funded through ad revue, but down know that for fact. When originally deciding whether to make use of vpnbook, a cursory search resulted in a great deal of speculation including conspiracy theory. What I do know is that I've used vpnbook for over...

    VPNBook-Passwd.com w/ Sample Robot Script for ASUSWRT-Merlin

I've updated the process to make use of OCR software to automatically extract the vpnbook.com image password, update my router's openvpn client1/auth configuration, and then make it available, in plain-text, via vpnbook-passwd.com. (A BIG Shout-out to @Martineau for recommending this process.)

request for general ideas related to TOR

Hi @dazedandlost Welcome to the rabbit-hole. I have to agree that the best tool for the job really depends on what it's being used for. Not too long ago, I wrote a Small Tutorial on Asuswrt-Merlin's implementation of Tor. It's mostly technical in nature, but should give you a basic...

    VPNBook-Passwd.com w/ Sample Robot Script for ASUSWRT-Merlin

What if the vpnbook-passwd.com site is automatically updated by the vpnbook/password_extractor script?

Excellent! I'll install it and give it a try. Thanks! Gary

    VPNBook-Passwd.com w/ Sample Robot Script for ASUSWRT-Merlin

I was aware that auto-updating vpnbook.com had been available prior to the password image change. I was not aware of vpnbook/password_extractor. This is even better, if it will run on ASUSWRT-Merlin. Do you know whether it's possible to install vpnbook/password_extractor on ASUSWRT-Merlin? How...

    VPNBook-Passwd.com w/ Sample Robot Script for ASUSWRT-Merlin

This is a constructive question. More than likely, I desire the same VPN to be up and available as much as you do, so it would be in my best interest to have my openvpn-event script configured to text me an alert when the VPN went down and for me to manually update the password for both of us...

    VPNBook-Passwd.com w/ Sample Robot Script for ASUSWRT-Merlin

The previous response is unconstructive. A constructive response is kindly teaching you that double quotes are used in quoting an original reference and single quotes are used for quoting an existing quote. Hope that helps.

    VPNBook-Passwd.com w/ Sample Robot Script for ASUSWRT-Merlin

All: As you know, I'm constantly trying to innovate and think outside of the box with solutions. I finally got around to implementing and documenting this project (http://vpnbook-passwd.com/). For those of you whom would prefer to automate the vpnbook.com openvpn client password update, I've...

Entware [SOLUTION] Cross-Compile PixelServ-TLS 2.4 Entware Package via Debian Live DVD

Meets approval by the Entware Master (@ryzhov_al). Nice to see you back in the Asuswrt-Merlin forum.

Why was CONFIG_NETFILTER_XT_TARGET_TPROXY Reverted from Asuswrt-Merlin Linux-2.6.36 Kernel?

@RMerlin That was the problem. The xt_TPROXY and xt_socket kernel modules weren't loaded. I guess that's what I get for assuming that they were loaded by default. Thank you for bringing the obvious to my attention. With Great Respect, Gary

Why was CONFIG_NETFILTER_XT_TARGET_TPROXY Reverted from Asuswrt-Merlin Linux-2.6.36 Kernel?

@bsdsource I attempted to add an iptables rule that uses -m socket, but it fails as though the Asuswrt-Merlin Linux-2.3.36 kernel wasn't compiled with CONFIG_NETFILTER_XT_TARGET_TPROXY support. Respectfully, Gary

Why was CONFIG_NETFILTER_XT_TARGET_TPROXY Reverted from Asuswrt-Merlin Linux-2.6.36 Kernel?

@bsdsource Ah... I see. It was removed from the config_base file and added to the Makefile for the Linux-2.3.36 kernel. I missed that piece of information. Thanks! Gary

Why was CONFIG_NETFILTER_XT_TARGET_TPROXY Reverted from Asuswrt-Merlin Linux-2.6.36 Kernel?

@RMerlin (Eric) Curious as to why CONFIG_NETFILTER_XT_TARGET_TPROXY was reverted from the Asuswrt-Merlin Linux-2.6.36 kernel, yet retained in other Asuswrt-Merlin kernels? Respectfully, Gary

[DEVEL] Asuswrt-Merlin Remote Log Server (Syslog & Syslog-ng Synergy) to Centralize Primary Router & AiMesh Node System Logs

All: I've installed scribe and uiscribe, uncommented source net { udp(ip(192.168.0.1) port(514)); } and source(net), /opt/etc/init.d/S01syslog-ng reconfigure, and it appears to be receiving AiMesh Node System Logs per my previous nvram settings. Now, I just need to create Syslog filters and I...

Tutorial [SOLUTION] OpenVPN Client Split Tunnel Reverse Proxy Web Traffic using Nginx, DNSMasq, and IPTables

@SomeWhereOverTheRainBow @L&LD is correct on this point. Presently, I don't have a timeline as to when I might upgrade to the 386 release of the firmware. Does anyone else actually use this OpenVPN Client Split-Tunnel Reverse Proxy implementation besides me? Respectfully, Gary P.S...

[DEVEL] Asuswrt-Merlin Remote Log Server (Syslog & Syslog-ng Synergy) to Centralize Primary Router & AiMesh Node System Logs

@SomeWhereOverTheRainBow That makes sense as to why uiscribe would remove the Remote Log Server option, if scribe turns off the native syslog daemon. As long as I'm able to configure syslog-ng to listen on udp/514 (as I did in this tutorial) and manually configure the AiMesh Nodes' nvram set...

[DEVEL] Asuswrt-Merlin Remote Log Server (Syslog & Syslog-ng Synergy) to Centralize Primary Router & AiMesh Node System Logs

@Jack Yaz, et al: Please confirm whether scribe & uiscribe make use of the Remote Log Server functionality of Syslog? It is needed to centralized AiMesh Node Syslogs on the Primary Router. I was looking at the uiscribe screenshots and Remote Log Server appears to be removed. I love everything...

Solved [SOLUTION] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 PortForwarding Not Working To Private Gateway Address

@L&LD I will 'possibly' say, "@L&LD... Thanks for working through all the 386 bugs for me. Now, will you work through all the 388 bugs for me? Thanks!" It's all a delicate act of security vs usability. You can see which side I tend to err on. I'm surprised I've been a Linux and not a BSD Guy...
