Does OFDMA Really Work? Part 1

I'm curious too, is it still as irrelevant in 2022 as Thiggins concluded in 2020? Should I disable it?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

I’m using the official OpenVPN Connect 3.3.6 app for macOS and 3.3.0 for iOS. Both are latest versions. :) I’m noticing that even after setting up a new openvpn server on the router with a new config file, my mac and iphone is slow to connect and i have to try several times for OpenVPN to...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

OpenVPN connection problem on 386.7_2 On 386.7_2 my macbook pro could no longer connect to the openvpn server running on my AX86U. It connected no problem on 386.5_2, but was just spinning forever until it timed out on 386.7_2. A reboot didn't fix it. I had to create a new openvpn-server and...

I wish Asuswrt-merlin was able to auto-update like the Asuswrt does.

    Firewalla

For someone who's interested in network security but doesn't know much technically; is a dedicated hardware firewall such as the Purple something that is recommended everyone should have, or is the AX86U (e.g.) good enough for a small network? Does the Purple offer anything security wise that...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Dirty upgrade from 386.5_2 to 386.7_2. No connectivity issues or anything else really on AX86U running exclusively on 5GHz. Thank you RMerlin.

News A wide range of routers are under attack by new, unusually sophisticated malware

As a sidenote, I read somewhere here on the forum that most router malware gets stored and runs in memory. A simple router-reboot removes the malware completely. So, enable and set your weekly reboot-schedule fellas :) It can’t hurt.

    Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.49703 (07-20-2022)

If i understand this correctly, this security issue was reoported back in 2018, and not fixed until now? Is that correct? Isn’t that a bit worrysome, that a known security issue is open for four years before it’s patched? Is it normal to take take that long?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

How does Asus usually roll out? The most popular models first? The most expensive ones first? Cheapest ones? Or is there no logic to it?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

The latest on here is 49447. Did you get it from the website or from «check for update» directly from the ax86u?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Are the connection issues people are experiencing only related to IPv6? In my country - a small scandinavian one - we only have IPv4, so I guess this doesn't affect me?

    Synology RT6600AX

Has anyone else got any more playtime with this router? I'm curious about it, especially it's touted 1.2 updates per month and 5.6 CVE-fixes per update on average. Does anyone know if its security features are better than Asus AiProtect and how the router compares to the AX86U?
  14. torstein

What’s the next router to consider?

How is the security features of the Synology routers compared to ASUS' routers, ie Synology's equivalent to aiProtection?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Wow, 21 pages already :) I don't have the time to read through all of them, but is it finally 100% safe to install on AX86U?

    [ 386.7 alpha Build(s) ] Testing available build(s)

@RMerlin, out of curiosity, what were the "seucrity hardening changes" that made no sense to add specifically? And can you share the details of what is new in GPL 386_48823? I know I'm maybe weird, but reading changelogs is my idea of a good time :)

Each Firefox download has a unique identifier

Hmm, I knew Chrome was ahead of everyone else in market share, but I didn't know Firefox was that far behind. Didn't it used to be in the 20% range? Maybe it might actually be sunsetting? What surprised me the most was Safari's market share, this is supposedly desktop browser market share, not...

Each Firefox download has a unique identifier

Story time :) In 1998 Apple wanted to cease being dependent on Netscape and Internet Explorer. So for their big transition from OS 9 to OS X they decided to create their own browser. They forked KHTML and KJS javascript engine from KDE the same year, created the Webkit-project which developed...
