KILLMON KILLMON v1.1.2 -Feb 29, 2024- IP4/IP6 VPN Kill Switch Monitor & Configurator (Now available in AMTM!)

Ahhh fair, sucks to see you move away from this but I guess everything has to die at some point! crappy thing is running the latest firmware for my equipment, 386.14, with the killswitch activated doesn't do a thing for me when the vpn disconnects. so in reality I might still have to use killmon...

    Please harmonise killswitch behaviour

Yes please, I second this. I'm on 386.14 and I have the same thing. Would love if this could happen before we get abandoned 🤞

KILLMON KILLMON v1.1.2 -Feb 29, 2024- IP4/IP6 VPN Kill Switch Monitor & Configurator (Now available in AMTM!)

hi so am i right in saying you can't block for multiple, single ip4 addresses? paranoid mode seems the most useful if im honest. one single ip doesn't do much and a range doesn't work on guest networks. I'm even finding it doesn't work on guest networks at all specifically has no effect on...

Devices connected through wifi extender are showing up under guest IP subnet

Thanks for the replies guys. The extender is the TPLink RE220 and yes both bands on the extender have the same SSID as the the normal SSIDs and the bands match. So the guest is 5GHz ASII2 and the corresponding 5GHz is ASII2 (same SSID) on the extender. My normal network is called VLX05 which...

Devices connected through wifi extender are showing up under guest IP subnet

I am using a TP Link extender and have a guest and normal network. The guest network is under this arrangement When setting up the extender I chose the guest network as the 5G and my normal network as the 2.4G. I named both networks the exact same name as the originals i.e. the above ASII2...

    Noob DNS questions

I use Asus Merlin and I have a Pihole running on a personal server that is added as DNS on my network that all my devices use on my LAN. Is there some other type of DNS that I need to also setup? I disable all DNS on all my devices so it doesn't interfere with the Pihole. Is this bad practice...

SSH into my server is failing with: "Authentications that can continue: publickey, password Permission denied, please try again."

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I really want help. I am trying to ssh into my Umbrel server which is hosted on my rasp pi. I recently lost access to logging in due to losing 2FA device so I have no access whatsoever to the server. My only way of working was now through...

Best setup for a wifi extender

Sorry for being dumb but how does the repeater know which signal to extend?

Solved RT-AC68U: In-router DNS resolution issues

Is it ok that I set the WAN DNS to my pihole and the Quad9 DNS?

Best setup for a wifi extender

Awesome thanks for that. I've been researching and found this Is this only for asus routers in repeater mode? I would assume I connect the router to the repeater in some way and it extends the signal. How do you connect it? Do you connect it in the repeater's settings somehow?

Best setup for a wifi extender

Nothing man it's a very small house unfortunately. Sorry man I don't know what that is but I will look into it I think an Extender will be best for me atm then. I know you say any brand but any that you would suggest for Asus router? Thanks

Solved RT-AC68U: In-router DNS resolution issues

Wow man thanks that is great info! I'm curious is my setup ok in your eyes? 192.168.1.8 is where my pihole is located and I don't have DNS director enabled. I use this VPN and after setting it to Strict for Accept DNS I am getting no more DNS leaks on my guest and home network, is this...

Best setup for a wifi extender

Honestly I hate to be awkward but if you saw my house you would realise it's impossible to set it up that way. There's a long hall way to the area that gets no signal and inbetween I'd literally have to put the router on the floor just for it to be inbetween both areas.

Solved RT-AC68U: In-router DNS resolution issues

I know this is 2 years old but no one is answering my new post. Is there any reason we should set the DNS to those? I don't understand. How does this get your network to traffic through Pihole? My first DNS is Pihole and the second is Quad9 and it seems to work fine.

Best setup for a wifi extender

Interesting. I want to maintain that config with yazfi, surely they can be maintained in some type of setup? My router is located on the other end of the house because it has to be connected to my Raspberry pi and my whole office setup. I have 4 ethernet cables connecting to consoles and other...

    Pihole/Yazfi with guest network

After research and watching the Pihole when I have a second DNS added, if I'm honest it gets just as much traffic with or without the second DNS listed. So it's not too bad. I hear that over time after PiHole caches queries it can take them much faster than the 2nd DNS anyways! The issue now is...

Best setup for a wifi extender

My main concern is does this change any of the configuration when the extender middlemans the network? Or will all my configuration persist? What would you personally suggest out of those two and which would be more cost effective? Thanks

Best setup for a wifi extender

I use an RT-AC86U and don't get good signal at the other end of my house. What is a good option for extending the signal? I have read that buying a cheap asus router and using it as a node would do the job. I have VPNs and specific settings that I would like to maintain on my network, is this...

    Pihole/Yazfi with guest network

I think I figured it out I set "Forward local domain queries to upstream DNS" and it seems to be working on the guest network.
