[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 Beta is now available

Question regarding DNSSEC. As long as Cloudflare's servers aren't hijacked, will I effectively be protected using DNSSEC which their test page implies? Enabling it on the router protects against Cloudflare being compromised, correct?

[Preview] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 with DNS over TLS

For me, if I enabled DNSSEC and DNS-over-TLS then it breaks that page. When I disable DNSSEC, then it works.

[384.11_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

I've noticed that the Network Map and Client List will only show my PC as connected even though my TV and Blu-ray are on and were assigned IPs. They only seem to show right after I turn the items on. Well, if I start doing stuff on my Blu-ray like connecting to Netflix, then it appears on the...

[Preview] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 with DNS over TLS

Well, you can go into Network Tools -> Netstat tab and click the Netstat button. Should see entries going to the DNS servers using the 853 port. tcp 0 0 (ip addy):35081 1.0.0.1:853 TIME_WAIT - tcp 0 0 (ip addy):60283 1.1.1.1:853...

[Preview] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 with DNS over TLS

Yeah, according to https://scoreboard.verisignlabs.com/ only like 1% of domains support DNSSEC. They also have a domain tester at https://dnssec-debugger.verisignlabs.com/ . So, for 99% of the sites out there, DNSSEC is more or less useless it would seem. It's not even enabled at google.com...

[Preview] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 with DNS over TLS

Alright, I went to https://nil.uniza.sk/how-install-dig-dns-tool-windows-7 and installed dig on my system to test if DNSSEC was actually working since those test sites seem to just test the DNS resolver you are using and what it supports. With DNS-over-TLS and DNSSEC enabled, then it breaks...

[Preview] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 with DNS over TLS

    1. I have no such DNSSEC setting here. The DNS Server 1 & 2, and the WINS Server are all blank. In the WAN -> WAN DNS section, DNSSEC is NOT enabled here. I do have DNS-Over-TLS (DoT) enabled. 2. Ran that command and got: :/tmp/home/root# stubby -i | grep -i dnssec [21:23:52.419413]...

[Preview] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.11 with DNS over TLS

Trying out this alpha out on my RT-AC68U and set it up just like your screenshots. I went to https://www.cloudflare.com/ssl/encrypted-sni/ and the first three things had green check marks and the last did not. I then went to https://cloudflare-dns.com/help/ and it did show I was using 1.1.1.1...

Thanks for the pointer. I'll fiddle around with it later.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.10 Beta is now available

You just need to click "Accept the Risk and Continue" and add an exception for the certificate. It thinks the certificate is self-signed due to it being from an unknown authority "ASUSWRT-Merlin". If there's some way to add "ASUSWRT-Merlin" to the listed of trusted authorities so you don't...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.10 Beta is now available

In the Traffic Classification Tab of the QoS area, when hovering over any label on the right-side, the tooltip always says undefined. I don't have QoS enabled so that might be it if it's supposed to show something. The browser console only has this warning on that page: The script from...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.9 Beta is now available

With my RT-AC68U coming from 384.8_2, the first time I attempted it, browser was stuck on "Applying Settings" with no progress bar when I came back. Restarted my browser and went back to the Router and 384.8_2 was still on it. I re-applied the firmware and this time it worked. So, I guess some...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

I do know that the "Statistics" tab of Traffic Analyzer uses Trend Micro and requires agreement to their popup.

Weird high peaks on traffic graph

Yeah it's a bug with 384.5. I would get a 4 Gig upload spike with every 4 Gig worth of download. Anyway, 384.6 does fix it. (A combination of what Merlin and ASUS did corrected it).

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 beta is now available

This firmware is working fine on my RT-AC68U. Like with the alphas, I see no funky 4Gig upload spikes with every 4Gig of download. Between you and Asus that seems to be fixed from 384.5. Thanks for your efforts.

    RT-AC68U Problem with Traffic Monitor

You probably have the 4 Gig upload spike bug with every 4 Gig of download. Usually visible in the 24hour section. I was getting this with Merlin's 384.5 firmware. The latest ASUS Firmware does not do it and Merlin's current 384.6 Alpha has corrected it, on the RT-AC68U anyway.

[Preview] Early Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 test builds are available

Just wanted to mention that 384.6_alpha2-g5b076fc87 seems to be working fine on my RT-AC68U. No upload spikes at the 4 Gig download mark.

No, none of them do yet. Gotta wait. 384.6 (xx-xxx-xxxx) - NEW: Merged with GPL 384_20942 (AC56U and AC87U currently missing)

[Preview] Early Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 test builds are available

Curious.. I've never had Netflix not work, but I'll admit I've done all my Netflix over wired connections to my PC and Blu-ray player. Have a Laptop now I can test Wireless stuff with. Was able to watch Netflix on it fine. It's connected over the 2.4 Ghz. Running the alpha-2 on my RT-AC68U...

[Preview] Early Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 test builds are available

So far after downloading 5.5 Gigs of data, I see no upload spikes in the Traffic Analyzer that 384.5 had every 4 gigs. So, between Asus and you, that seems to be corrected. Thanks for your efforts!
