    [Review] Asus RT-AX88U

You have replied to a thread that hasn’t been ‘used’ in 5 years. I suggest that you start your own thread. More chance of a reply then. Unless, of course, you are a BOT. 😀

    Asus Router Configuration Printout

Not that I know of. I usually take screenshots of the pertinent pages and refer back to them. Another alterative is to save the web pages in your browser.

pfSense No More Without Paid Version?

This is obviously true. But if some was going to pay anyway, it saves them some money.

pfSense No More Without Paid Version?

There is a discount code for $30 off for the first year. I have just used it. Enter TACLITE at checkout.

    Expected differences in Speedtest results?

I would suggest that the graph is pretty normal. My Internet speeds take a hit after approximately 18:00. My simple guess is that it is when folk get home from work and start streaming/watching stuff. Providing the speed/bandwidth is good enough for what I need, I don't worry.

Logitech Harmony Elite compatibility with ASUS AX routers / Wi-Fi 6

I have an AX88U (non Pro) and a Logitech Harmony Elite connected and works just fine. I don’t see why the AX88U Pro would be any different.

Can someone read my syslog and tell me why I keep losing internet?

Here in the UK, my ISP's street cab has battery backup. I know because I work for them!

How do malware-blocking DNS providers compare?

Very interesting. I am not too network savvy, but this is quite disturbing. Thanks for posting.

Can I run scripts on an ASUS RT-AX88U (Merlin 388.2) Access Point?

I’ve not got that deep into configuration yet. It’s a steep learning curve for me. I want to move into VLANs soon.

Can I run scripts on an ASUS RT-AX88U (Merlin 388.2) Access Point?

I have recently changed my home network setup. I have added a stand-alone pfSense box, now only using my router, an RT-AX88U running Merlin 388.2, as an access point. After I SSH into the AP I noticed that AMTM was available and could list available packages. I am only really interested in...

    OpenVPN on pfSense v2.6.0. **** Solved ****

Sorted. I checked the configs again and found that I needed to enter a DNS server address. AFAIK, the YouTube walk through didn’t mention this, but I could have easily missed it as it had been a long day.

    OpenVPN on pfSense v2.6.0. **** Solved ****

Hello. After using an AX88U with Merlin for an age, I got bored with everything ’just working’ so I’ve dipped my toes into pfSense waters. I have completely rewired my home network accordingly. I am now using the AX88U as an access point along with an AX3000 & AX1500 access points from TP-Link...

Changing from USB 3.0 to SSD for Entware, Diversion etc....

Thank you for taking the time to reply and for the link, but I am afraid that it's beyond me. I tried PartedMagic (CloneZilla) and EaseUS Partition Manager, but both rightfully complained that the target disk is smaller than the sauce disk. I was only trying to make use od a spare SSD...

Changing from USB 3.0 to SSD for Entware, Diversion etc....

My USB stick is 128 GB, and my SSD is only 80GB. Even though I must only have 3GB (Ish) of data on the USB, my clone software sees the capacity difference as a no-no. I thought that I might be able to shrink it in the process. but no. I realise that I cannot just cut and paste the data from one...

Changing from USB 3.0 to SSD for Entware, Diversion etc....

My system is running boringly fine at to moment. Even with Merlin 388.2 beta 1. I have a spare SSD and enclosure that I thought I could put to effective use. Reading on here, some people say that using an SSD against a USB 3.0 stick can be advantageous. As I love to tinker, how easy is it to...

    Diversion and NextDNS

I do actually use uBlock on my Windows PC and like you say, it really does a good job. But I will give NextDNS a good try and see how it well it performs on my other connected devices.

    Diversion and NextDNS

Though so, thanks for the confirmation.
