No encrypt certificate not working with DDNS service

Same issue here, after factory reset and re-configuring everything from scratch, Let’s Encrypt certificate status is stuck on “Authorizing”. I can vaguely recall that once I had this issue before and it took a couple of days before it was gone.

    RT-AX82U dropping connection

If you feel brave, you can also consider giving a chance to the newest beta firmware: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/asuswrt-386-rc3-1-public-beta.74509/

How to disable Aimesh node's 2.4ghz radio?

Did you do this? Is it working well for you? I have one room of my apartment where the 2.4GHz is okayish, but 5GHz really poor (a very nasty wall between this room and the one where the main router resides). I consider putting there an extra node (I can wire-backhaul it) and turn just 5GHz on...

    NextDNS CLI on Asus stock?

Thank you very much, it's clear. Then I understand the only way to use encrypted NextDNS on (the latest) stock is to configure it as DoT. I read some users had issues with it - anybody running NextDNS this way and happy?

    NextDNS CLI on Asus stock?

Dear SNB Community, I am sorry if I am asking this question in a wrong place. But since @RMerlin's firmware is a part of the context, maybe it makes some sense. I am a happy user of NextDNS CLI on my main RT-AC86U running 386.3_2. I am wondering if it would be possible to install it this way...

    RT-AX86 Series

@RMerlin, I am just curious: would your AX86U firmware work on the "S" variant, too? It looks like Asus stock is the same for both.

Release [FORK][DSL] Asuswrt-Merlin 386.2_4 GNUton's build for DSL Routers released!

I employed my old DSL-AC68U as the primary router at my in-laws’ and all working well after the last update. One little irregularity was the repeater that didn’t automatically reconnect after flashing. A simple manual reboot fixed it. Thank you, @GNUton !

    WRT-Merlin on RT-AX92U

    2X RT-AC68U - router/AP or AiMesh

In my experience, it depends a lot on the client. In my setup, I can seamlessly roam in a video call on my company notebook, but not on the home one. My iPhone is a bit picky, on some occasions roams better than on others. Even with AiMesh it helps if you enable Roaming Assistant in the wireless...

    2X RT-AC68U - router/AP or AiMesh

I confirm the @Tech9 's recommendation. My routers are very similar hardware as yours (and in case of AsusWRT-Merlin, exactly the same firmware). I extensively tested both setups and performance-wise, they were practically the same to me - including stability. I settled with AiMesh mainly for...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.2 is now available

Very smooth direct upgrade of 3 x AC66U_B1. Thank you, RMerlin!

    Optimizing AiMesh for iPhones

Have you tried to switch off private network addresses on your iPhones? You really don’t need this feature on your home network.

Small Deadspot - How to address?

If Ethernet or MOCA connection aren’t possible, I would use a powerline extender. For me they have always been more stable and offering stronger WiFi signal than purely wireless range extenders.

    Pi-Hole or Diversion or Unbound?

An additional benefit of NextDNS is that it is ‘portable’ - they have apps for iOS, Android, Windows etc. so you can enjoy the same protections out of your home network. Well, in fact even on your company laptop if you can tweak its DNS settings :-)

    Firmware upgrade on mesh nodes

I would try the following steps and check after each of them if it helped: 1) Reboot the main router (first from GUI and then by turning off power) 2) Reboot the nodes (the same) 3) Disconnect and reconnect the nodes 4) Factory reset and reconnect the nodes 5) Factory reset of the main router...

    Asuswrt-Merlin and Asus Router app

It’s a pity, but RMerlin has no control over this app and his implementation of OpenVPN is otherwise superior to Asus stock firmware.

    Asuswrt-Merlin and Asus Router app

On iOS I use the ‘Shelly - SSH Client’ app for similar purposes and I’m quite happy with it. The basic version is free, but the full version is merely $5 and it’s worth it, as it allows you to save your favorite connections and commands in the fashion described by Eibgrad. I would be cautious...

    Node LED setting not sticking

Same experience here. I like the AMTM script as it allows to create a schedule in a way that’s easy for a non-coder.

    Node LED setting not sticking

Instead of through WebGUI, you can access AMTM of your node(s) and set LED control there. It works and it sticks.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.2 is now available

There’s a natural tendency to post in case of some issues, but on a brighter note, let me report a smooth (though dirty) upgrade of 3 x AC66U_B1
