    ASUS AC68U V3 not compatible?

Roughly 2 months ago I actually managed to downgrade my DSL-AC68U from the latest 386.xx stock to 384.17 Merlin / GNUton FW. Dirty flash, followed by WPS reset and no major issues ever since. Not sure why would ASUS policy be different for RT-AC68U. I am definitely looking forward to your update.

    No FTP access to AC68U

You can also turn your FTP on or off through the Asus Router app. For me this is the most handy option if I need to unmount the drive just for a while, without changing other settings. Won’t help with the #2 question :-(

Is there a built-in Ad blocker I can use in the Merlin releases?

If you don’t mind spending a couple of bucks, here’s my preferred ad-blocking option: https://nextdns.io/ https://github.com/nextdns/nextdns/wiki/AsusWRT-Merlin https://www.snbforums.com/threads/nextdns-installer.61002/ The additional advantages of this one: - With Android / iOS / Windows /...

Asterisks in the DHCP Lease table

All clear. Thank you, @RMerlin !

Asterisks in the DHCP Lease table

Thank you very much @ColinTaylor. Sounds like a sensible workaround. Greetings from Poland

Asterisks in the DHCP Lease table

Hi RMerlin, thank you for your attention. It totally makes sense to me that the root cause of this is on the device side. Especially now when John's question made me aware there are some devices which consistently end up with an "*". May I have 2 follow-up questions to that: 1) Why do these...

Asterisks in the DHCP Lease table

Thank you, John. Interestingly, Apple devices are among the ones that behave perfectly properly - they never get 'asterisksized' (and BTW, I never use the MAC change option). But when you asked this question, I realized there is another pattern: my Yamaha amplifier and 2 connected Yamaha...

Asterisks in the DHCP Lease table

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately the asterisk is still there.

Asterisks in the DHCP Lease table

I never use saved backup configs; it's more fun to enter them manually :-) Yes, whenever I do a factory reset, I always format JFFS partition, too. I do us amtm, led control and NextDNS CLI. Sadly had to turn Skynet off, because of too many false positives recently.

Asterisks in the DHCP Lease table

Hi L&LD. I’m running the ‘regular’ APs and not the AIMesh. There is a number of devices (smartphones and laptops) that roam a lot between the APs and a few (smart TV, XBOX, sound system) that remain permanently attached to a single AP. I have rebooted and actually factory reset both the router...

Asterisks in the DHCP Lease table

I am sorry if this is a silly question or if it had been answered somewhere else already. But could someone kindly explain to me the asterisks in this picture: This comes from the 'System Log - DHCP leases' tab. I wonder why some clients are described with their real names, where 'real' means...

    NextDNS Installer

The only way I am aware of is through your software updater notification - in case you have a Linux PC. The updates for the Merlin client are usually synced with the updates for the Linux CLI client.

    Surfshark VPN refusing to start.

Hi there, I am a Surfshark subscriber and have 3 servers configured on my RT-AC66U B1 (which I use occasionally). I confirm I can connect to them without issues and all my clients can access internet. Also the Certificate and Static Key are correctly visible in the 'Keys and Certificates' panel...

Luster’s Home Networking Adapter Delivers 2.5 Gbps Actual Data Rates

I know this is an old thread, but maybe someone will find it interesting. I have recently bought a set of 2 Luster adapters in this Dutch webstore: https://www.cablers.nl/epages/Cablers.sf/nl_NL/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Digiproof/Categories/EthernetoverCoax Note that the website doesn't have an...

Dear @Olivier Poitrey , when you respond, could you also kindly look at my question from the post #507 above? :)

    NextDNS Installer

Hello, a long-time-reader-but-first-time-writer here. Have mercy and patience on me, guys :) I have got the NextDNS cli client installed on my RT-AC66u_B1, running Merlin 384.19. I am on a paid yearly subscription and overall I am happy with the service. There is though one detail which doesn't...
