What options should I consider when buying a BETTER wifi adapter?

    1) Ethernet (why would you use anything else when low latency is required?) 2) Ubiquiti Nanostation aimed at access point.

    Tracking Down Bandwidth Hogs

How many devices are connected to the network? Is feasible to use a process of elimination? Are you open to other firmware like Tomato or DD-WRT that feature the ability to limit/track bandwidth on a device basis?

    A question about RT-AC68U

How exactly did you measure wireless speed? Did you measure transfers through Ethernet? How do Ethernet speeds compare to wireless speeds?

    RT-AC68U Wireless Client

I wanted to provide limited internet access to the neighbor. My RT-AC68U has Merlin's firmware and the neighbor's RT-AC68U is configured as a client to a guest SSID, so that they are separated from my LAN. I am unable to SSH to the WAN side of the neighbor's RT-AC68U (I wanted to have the...

Is it possbile to schedule reboot on DSL-AC68u (asus firmware)

If you have command line access maybe a cron job could do this with a script.

    RT-AC87U Disconnections

Suggest posting serial numbers of VERIFIED faulty hardware: these faults are produced in batches and this is a good way to identify bad batches. Once a bad batch is found, Asus can correct.

How to setup rt-ac66u bridge on 5ghz and accesspoint on 2.4ghz

I have setup a repeater bridge with DD-WRT and then decided to attach the remote unit in client mode. I did not want the remote site to have access to my LAN. To do this note the version off DD-WRT I used: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=285351 Is it an option to use MoCA or...

    Access Point/Repeater for Ac68u

Situations which beg to run a hard line from the gateway to an AP: * Videos / high bandwidth at remote site * You do not have experience linking routers via wireless and are non-technical * There are many other Wifi APs in the area * You own this property or plan to stay for 2+ years IMHO, if...

Which AC router for Merlin firmware

For $100, the T-Mobile Cellspot (RT-AC68U) is available for T-Mobile customers. Some have signed up for T-Mobile service for a few days just to buy one. Postpaid customers are given indefinite loaners or can buy for $100. This was rated the #2 AC router on the smallnetbuilder site. See the...

    Access Point/Repeater for Ac68u

If you are able to run a hard line (Ethernet or AC-Wireline) from your gateway to your AP that is preferable to any wireless connection because if speed and reliability (little or no RF interference). If this is an option, then a POE AP is the preferred solution. As I understand it, by...

SSH into Stock Asus TM-AC1900 (RT-AC68)? [TMO]

I have documented procedure to 'unveil' Telnet in the DD-WRT wiki: https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Asus_T-Mobile_Cellspot Note: there are two ways to gain telnet access (necessary to downgrade CFE, then flash Merlin build).

Save button for RT-AC68U DDNS settings?

BACKGROUND I have 'upgraded' a T-Mobile Cellspot to an RT-AC68U: http://tinyurl.com/asuscellspot The RT-AC68U was flashed with Merlin build 376.47. I have configured DDNS: I did not see a 'save' button to save the configuration information nor did I see any actionable feedback from the...

SSH into Stock Asus TM-AC1900 (RT-AC68)? [TMO]

I have tried to Telnet via Putty (port 23). No response. Has anyone had success accessing the stock firmware from the command line? If anyone has insight as to whether, from the hardware perspective, it is the same as the RT-AC68,I would be very interested in understanding any differences.

SSH into Stock Asus TM-AC1900 (RT-AC68)? [TMO]

Stock firmware: I was looking for the control to enable the SSH server on this device, but was not successful. Did I miss it? If not, is there any chance of command line access to the router? I would like to poke around before upgrading the firmware. Constructive / actionable suggestions are...

    300 Ft Commercial Property

I always prefer wired solution over a wireless, however, that being said, I would look into using a 5GHz Ubiqiquiti Nanostation for LOS links. They are a little more than the 2.4GHz, however in all likeliness you will have less interference.
