    RT-AC68U wifi failure

No hub: I noticed the failure occurred after plugging the fan into the router. It is not possible to be certain that this is the result of the fan, but it is likely the culprit as the device has been in flawless service for 6+ months. Fan was disconnected from router after noticing the...

    RT-AC68U wifi failure

After I plugged in a USB fan into the router, it brought down the wifi. I had to reset the device to its default values. Wifi now works, why doesn't this icon light up? Sometimes it does, mostly not.

    $9 Router Cooling (RT-AC68U Example)

====> UPDATE: http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/threads/rt-ac68u-wifi-failure.29705/ AC Infinity MULTIFAN S5, Quiet Dual 80mm USB Fan strapped to RT-AC86U http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IJ2J2K0/?tag=snbforums-20 Would have liked to spend more time to screw the fans in but, it was very...

    RT-AC68U Power for Fan

@kvic: :) Thanks for the guidance. As I understand it, it is not only necessary to correctly match the voltage of the fan with the power source, it also is critical to ensure that the draw of the load (fans) does not exceed the capacity of the power supply's ability to source current / current...

    RT-AC68U Power for Fan

Good idea. Although the USB is a simple and quick, if I can mount a fan and solder two wires, that would have less wiring to snag. Unfortunately, I may not have the time to do this and end up the USB route.

    Prioritized Static Lease

Thank you for the suggestion. I like the 'can-do' posture coupled with 'use-caution'. Is there a good example you can recommend? I did find this: http://linux.die.net/man/8/dnsmasq

    Prioritized Static Lease

The laptop is LAN connected by either Ethernet or Wifi but not both at any given time. I would like to assign a static lease( in the router) to both MAC address with same LAN IP address. The router's web UI will not permit a second instance of a LAN IP. If I implement the initial objective...

Best way to set up wi-fi roaming for iOS / wi-fi calling

Have you tried decreasing the transmission power \ relocating transmitters so as to minimizing overlap? What corrective action have you tried? It sounds like this is more of an IOS problem: is this a problem with other handsets?

    RT-AC68U Power for Fan

I am contemplating a fan to cool an RT-AC68U: Google was unable to provide an example. Specifically, I need to understand what is electrically available (voltage / current limit)to power fans and where to pickoff power. If you have opened an RT-AC68U, please state this in your reply...

My answer to cooling the RT-AC87R

Can you provide a link to the fans and comment on speed control (if any)? I am also interested in how the fans are attached to the device and any photos that clarify attachment. Thanks

    RT-AC68U Fan selection

I was inspired by this post 337 to install a fan: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/overclocking-rt-ac56u.12578/page-17 I'd like to do something similar with perhaps 2 fans on an RT-AC68U. This does not use a USB port (very desirable feature), so hopefully someone has done this already...

Command Line control: toggle USB port power on / off

84 Degrees in a home @ 70 degrees. This router is in Florida, so there is the potential for greater temperatures. Any thoughts as to whether a fan is warranted?

Command Line control: toggle USB port power on / off

If I am away for a stretch, I would like to be able to turn it on. It would be easier just to leave it on, however, it would be nice to eventually have a 'thermostat' script. Stopping the fan would be fine: that being said I thought it might be easy to issue a single command to depower the USB...

Resolving LINUX LAN hostnames to LAN addresses

@ColinTaylor: Agreed and excellent question. I was in the process of installing advance adblock (method 2) but did not finish yet: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/adblocking-with-combined-hosts-file.15309/ I did not finish because, I was concerned that adblock might cause problems for users...

    RT-AC68U Problem. Slow WiFi

Theoretically no, because they have been tested to stay within their own band. That being said, if you turn off all the suspects then you might be able to isolate the offendor.

Command Line control: toggle USB port power on / off

I plan to cool a remote router RT-AC68U with Merlin 378.55 with a USB fan: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008LHEE0Q/?tag=snbforums-20 or http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00080G0BK/?tag=snbforums-20 I would like to be able to turn off the USB power (the fan) from the command line. Is it possible to do...

    RT-AC68U bricked during firmware update
