[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Tested various settings and found there is no real way my drives will go to sleep. It runs at 45w normally and the lowest I ever seen while plugged into the ASUS is 39w. I have 5 Green Western Digitals installed so I may already be operating at the lowest I can with the drobo not actually...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I played around with it and using my power meter, I determined that my drive does not spin down, with either the drive or ASUS managing the spin down. I monitored the power up to around 45 mins after ASUS indicated spin down. Drobo itself does not say when it will spin down on its own, only...

I've never had the drobo's spin down function turned off and from what I see, there is no option below 15 mins. My dashboard doesn't even allow a timing input, so I just turned it off and will see what happens with Asus running the show & get back with the results.

Yes, it does coincide, but I have disabled minidlna. It's a Drobo which should have its own spin-up/spin-down. I don't know if it works without a normal computer, but I should probably disable the sleep feature on asus, unless there's no harm from the drive doing this. What's your opinion?

I've been getting similar error messages to the following: Jun 15 20:47:04 kernel: end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 6564810 The sector is always random, there appears to be no actual damage, and a chkdsk results in nothing. I'm assuming this happens because I have the drive scheduled to...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.54_2 is now available

Yes, I did complete a chkdsk with no errors. I cannot covert it due to the massive size of the drive.

My external is still not working on the newer firmware/ntfs drivers: Dec 31 17:00:36 hotplug[428]: USB /dev/sda2(ntfs) failed to mount at the first try! Dec 31 17:00:36 usb: USB /dev/sda2(ntfs) failed to mount At the first try! Dec 31 17:00:36 kernel: ufsd: use builtin utf8 instead of kernel...

Everything is stable so far on 11...I'll probably know if something is wrong in about 3 days or earlier. Thanks for the hard work on this! On another note, would it be possible to bring up the ability to create a guest network while operating in repeater mode? I'd like this for security...

Update: disabling the IPV6 firewall prior to enabling repeater seems to have worked for 2.4GHz. I just switched over to 5GHz to give that a try, will update in about a day or two.

I think you're exactly on the spot with the 2.4GHz...probably the 5GHz if it just isn't reporting it. It acts the same. Anyhow, I have 5 clients all with -5x db or better connected to the 2.4 (now acting as the repeater as well) & 2 clients on the 5GHz. No one else is using 5GHz near me and...

We worked with something Comcast IPv6 related, I think it was someone else who worked with this. I've had IPv6 disabled because it causes issues even with my router. Do you suspect this is the same thing that's happening on 5GHz, just not reported? I'm trying to remember...you added a...

I'm still investigating my issue...seems similar, but probably not. I got the 5GHz to work without anything showing up on the logs...but the signal between my asus and main router seems to be dropping every now and then with no indication. I'm using the same SSID for the main router and the...

Thanks for the reply...I was guessing that would be the case...but I was hoping anyhow. This just means I'll have to troubleshoot my usb issue and solve it before an upgrade. You may hear from me again when I start to do that. In regards to the other situation, nothing I did to the ASUS...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Another question/another topic: would it be possible to support the RT-AC3200 or RT-AC87U in the future? If I do end up upgrading, I'd probably wait until I see a higher speed tri-band...one band to dedicate to the repeater function, one band for devices that link to my attached USB drive...

Thanks...I'll empty that. If you're right, moving clients off my 5GHz down to the 2GHz should help as well. My streaming is on the 5GHz. I'd upgrade the hardware, but I'm currently $$$ limited.

When I was overseas back between 2007-2010, I remember that the DST change crashed all of the credit systems locally for 1 hr. I wish DST would be either 100% or completely removed.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 is out

I have a similar issue: drive just won't mount. The USB driver changed to a different company and I suspect that they are not compatible with drives as large as ours. I rolled to the fork updates.

Yep, that did the trick. Now time to see how long v7 runs at full speed before I see the reduction I was seeing before. Wife's on the phone so I can't test it yet.
