    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.72SF

Was using NG/Voxel's build for some time only to later explore OpenWRT. What strikes me is somehow worse bufferbloat with Voxel's build and I am wondering whether that is specific to my configuration or whether it can be replicated. Also my impression is Skype voice calls (wired) are of better...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.72SF

Can somebody post dslreports.com/speedtest results with hi-res bufferbloat enabled in speedtest settings from 5G WLAN while on .72SF firmware?

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.72SF

If nothing else you can try: DNSCrypt-Proxy version 2 and STUBBY add-ons for R7800/R9000

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.66SF

What is an average CPU load/utilization with 66SF (with or without kamoj add-on)?

    Netgear Router Hidden Pages

It might show more once you enable NG Downloader plus allows you to add manually eMule servers. But I have not tested it.

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.65SF

You seam to be doing everything right. No errors during the process? I have only to more ideas: 1) unbirck procedure (load stock FW, maybe some really old one, via TFTP) 2) RMA process with NG (hopefully your NG is still under warranty) Optionally erase nvram partition _after_ flushing firmware.

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.65SF

I would try moving back to stock and then reinstalling .64SF (if everything is going to work with stock). Before each reimaging might be good to erase netgear partition.

    DNSCrypt-Proxy version 2 and STUBBY add-ons for R7800/R9000

In that case that small line for rc.local should help limiting potential DNS outage to not more than a minute. Got confused by complete lack of log file in the first place.

    DNSCrypt-Proxy version 2 and STUBBY add-ons for R7800/R9000

After manually starting dnscrypt still no log file? Anyway /tmp/log shouldn't be purged with every restart. You can try: /etc/init.d/dnscrypt-proxy-2 disable /etc/init.d/dnscrypt-proxy-2 enable Also doublecheck if dnscrypt is properly set in nvram.

What is the result of the following commands? nvram show | grep dnsc /etc/init.d/dnscrypt-proxy-2 restart

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.65SF

I have as well scrambled password for http. Plus I've cleaned up password hints: PWD_answer1= PWD_answer2= PWD_question1= PWD_question2= I am really surprised you are unable to reproduce since on my end that behavior is consistent starting from .64SF if I recall correctly despite few config...

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.65SF

The issue is affecting web interfaces only and not the actual devices connection. Steps to reproduce: Basic tab -> Quality of Service -> enable Dynamic QoS Advanced tab -> Administration -> Attached Devices

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.65SF

Dear @Voxel, Have you had a chance to take a look why enabling Dynamic QoS is causing Attached Devices to prompt for authentication and do not accept any? I know it is coming from NG FW but maybe can be fixed somehow.

I've checked intranet FTP with and without authentication (.65SF) and I am getting connection refused.

    Custom firmware build for R7800 v. 1.0.2.65SF

Can somebody with kamoj add-on v4 installed check what page http://routerlogin.net/DEV_device.htm is reporting on .65SF? To me looks like no 5GHz clients connected. Edit: wiping out congig and netgear erase helped :)

R7800 dns setting for the lan dhcp server

I'm using smart connect feature and in my case the recent issue was only with some Intel cards. Setting preference to 5ghz in windows properties solved it.
