Router that has many options for "family rules"

If by "Active use" you mean a limit on total time used over the current day. Then no I have not found anything like that. The parental controls limit time of day a given machine can access the Internet, but no difference if they use it or not.

Route requests of different domain names to different servers

Routers work on the IP level, and do not see the domain name used, so the answer is no not on the same destination port. However, some server software like a web server can get the domain name from within the protocol data, and route the request to different directories based on that. So you...

Parental Control Time Scheduling not working

Interesting - I would have thought that Merlin/Asus would have turned the NAT aceleration off when you enabled the parental controls. Could even be a feature = "Do you want to terminate active connections (Y/N)?" The other problem is with IPV6 which, on the version of ip6tables on my...

Parental Control Time Scheduling not working

First I want to say that I do NOT use the GUI parental controls. Second I want to state that it is possible for parental controls to break an existing connection IF the hardware acceleration is disabled and the blocking rules are in the correct order. Third, I use a script to control the...

    Host domain email

I think you are asking in the wrong forum. MX records are controlled by DNS servers not DNS clients (which is what is on these home routers). Also, the SMTP protocol from the Internet may be blocked by your ISP unless you have a business account (to prevent spammers setting up email...

Having trouble accessing second router via computer?

To access Router#1 from the 192.168.1.x network, you need to use it's 192.168.1.y address (the address on it's WAN port). You may also need to allow access from the WAN in the Router#1 configuration if it has a firewall enabled . To use any 192.168.3.x address from the 192.168.1.x network...

ASUS RT-N66U - Access Admin page of Access Point

You get the ASUS RT-AC66U Device Discovery tool from the Asus support site, under download - utilities once you enter your notebooks OS This link may work to put you in the area of the downloads, otherwise just work your way down their site to find what you need...

    Routing issue with the RT-N66U

I should have been clear about the fork - John's Fork for 374.43 here [Fork] Update for 374.43 available (V13E1)

    Routing issue with the RT-N66U

Yes the fork will solve your problem 100% sure. Maybe Merlin's will too. In the fork, Version 11 added a new option to allow local subnet forwarding which is your problem. Version 13 makes it the default.

Please please help : RT-AC68U - USB modem not connecting automatically again if connection drops

If you switch to Merlin's firmware so that you can run scripts, you could try running the script found in post#28 here: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/problem-rt-n66-with-cable-modem-dcm-475.22268/page-2#post-164550 The command "service restart_wan" in the script should be the same as you...

    SSID to VLAN

    For anyone that wants to modify the script above for another Asus model, this table of hardware ports may be useful #Robocfg port mapping #Model { WAN L1 L2 L3 L4 CPU } #RTN16: { 0, 4, 3, 2, 1, 8 } #RTAC56U: { 4, 0, 1, 2, 3, 5 } #RTN66U: { 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 } #RTAC66U: { 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 }...

    DHCP renew time?

I am wondering if the Asus WAN connection is dropping and coming back up, but the DHCP requests from the Asus router are too soon for the Huawei. Try setting your DHCP frequency to "Normal" instead of "Aggressive" on the WAN page. There is no technical reason why Normal wouldn't work for any...

RT-N66U VLAN on 1 LAN port

The answer is yes it can be done with scripts. I don't know about others, but the reasons I have ignored your question are: (1) Using the keywords you have used in your post, you can find others posts where solution(s) exist by using the forum search on this site. (2) I have nothing to add to...

Is there a way for an RT-N66U to run in AP mode with *only* guest network access? i.e. no LAN acces

The script deletes the rules and then adds them so that you will only have one set of rules left if the script is rerun. The error messages are from the deleting of the non-existent rules the first time. Take the # off the line "# set -x" near the beginning and you will see the commands as...

Is there a way for an RT-N66U to run in AP mode with *only* guest network access? i.e. no LAN acces

Sorry CaptainSTX, original poster said using AP mode. Therefore AP based restriction not possible from GUI. Both Guest and Main Wifi SSIDs get the access of the port the wired cable is connected to. Here is a script that you can run on Merlin's firmware which will work to restrict Wifi users...

    SSID to VLAN

I suspect at your point 7 connecting to the SSID will work only when using no security. I suggest you change this .... # Created lan9_ifnames nvram set lan9_ifnames="vlan9 wl0.1" nvram set lan9_ifname="br9" to the lower number 1 since eapd may not look as high as 9 (or may not like skipping...

AC56U how to add bridges with DHCP servers?

Solved - Moving guest WIFI SSID to a bridge and VLAN with wireless security enabled! Solution was in old thread http://www.snbforums.com/threads/works-perfectly-if-i-disable-all-authentication.12281/ which also has a link to a thread http://www.snbforums.com/threads/vlan-configuration.8801/...

    FYI Asus RT-AC66U firmware 3-0-0-4-376-3861 and IPV6 6to4

This is just information for users of Asus RT-AC66U running stock firmware 3-0-0-4-376-3861 and attempting to get IPV6 using 6to4. Attempting to configure IPV6 using either 6to4 or 6rd failed to work with the 376-3861 version. Changed to firmware 3-0-0-4-374-43-2-11j9527 and used John's...
