    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

Very interesting test result. 1, For the upload/download issue. have you exchange the tested PC's position. such as if the server is connected to your router and the client is connected to the MoCA adapter. Try to connect the server to the MoCA adapter and connect the client to router. Exchange...

    goCoax MoCA 2.5 adapter

You can use a very long RG6 coax, because the cable has very limited attenuation. 3' is defiantly not an issue.

Is anybody interested in 8+2 10GbE switch?

We checked Amazon, found full 10GbE switch is very expensive. For example, Netgear XS708E, QNAP QSW-1208-8C-US, Buffalo BS-MP2008, Netgear XS508M, TRENDnet TEG-7080ES and so on. Almost all of them are above $500. We think the price is too high. If we build a similar one. Are you interested...

Excellent tool for traffic performance test, iperf3.7

I just found the useful tool, iperf3.7. With it, you can do bi-directional test concurrently. Very nice. Worth to try. https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1234695-iperf-37-windows-build/ http://files.budman.pw/iperf3.7_64.zip

    MoCA 2.5 adapters?

2.5GbE/5GbE is in the very early stage of market. The price is too high. 2.5GbE PHY is more than $3.x, 5GbE PHY is about $5-$6. Far more higher than GbE PHY. It is about $0.6. We still need to wait for some time to see more 2.5GbE/5GbE products.

    MoCA 2.5 adapters?

Just now, only MaxLinear can provide MoCA 2.5 chips. And also looks like this is a niche market, no other vendor wants to develop such chips. I think this is the reason for slow progress.

    MoCA 2.5 adapters?

Hello Trip, Thanks for your input. In fact, we have studied this for a while. found it is impossible for MoCA. their products are for Point to Point scenario. There is no splitter in the coaxial network. Splitter will block the power transmission. So we have to use dedicated power adapter for...

    MoCA 2.5 adapters?

Correct, MoCA 2.5 only increase the channels numbers than MoCA 2.0. There is a mode in MoCA 2.0 called Turbo mode, which exists when there are only two MoCA devices present. When this is recognized, some of the overhead transactions are removed thereby giving a 12% increase in PHY rate. But for...

    MoCA 2.5 adapters?

I agree 2.5GbE ethernet port is much better. Let us do a detailed discussion. I will explain why we don't select 2.5GbE ethernet port. First, MoCA 2.5 can provided 2.5Gbps real traffic bandwidth over the media. for MoCA, the maximum devices are 16, all the devices share the 2.5Gbps. For...

    MoCA 2.5 adapters?

First, MoCA 2.5 uses 5x 100MHz channels, Next, let me try to explain the difference between PHY rate and real traffic rate. You can treat MoCA as Wi-Fi, both of them use OFDM. They share the same media, air or COAX. They use TDMA. They have too much overhead and waiting time when do...
