    Is it possible to TORIFY one WIFI channel and VPN the 2nd?

    For instance, 2.4ghz all data will go through TOR, while on the 5GHZ (or LAN) all data will go through the internal VPN. Would it be better to use a 2nd old router with TOR as a discrete AP? I'm on a 87u but 68u and 86u available.

    If I run all DNS queries via strict mode through my always on VPN, is there any advantage to running Dnscrypt?

    RT-AC87U very poor performance

    Ditto, AC87u is fast on boot (70mbps) but gets slow after a couple days. Latest Merlin running Openvpn on it. Older OCed 68u was faster by 20% and ran cooler. Reboot and it works ok (35mbps VPN) for a couple days.

    Can anyone comment what accounts for the massive OPENVPN speed on the RT-AC86U? CPU speed is the same as OCed ac68p (1.4ghz). Does it have hardware accelerated AES-NI?

    Oddly enough after waking up this AM the router autorebooted (set to every night). Now I am seeing 2798.38 BOGOMIPS BUT only 1000 MHZ CPU. So using the latest beta firmaware 382.2_beta2 I seem to have a full persistent OC. I only lose it and revert to 1998.84 bogomips if I soft reboot the...

    Asus RT-AC68 Overclock not working

    I have the same problem, after "nvram set clkfreq=1400,800" "cat /proc/cpuinfo" returns "> BogoMIPS : 1998.84" but "nvram set clkfreq=1400,800". BogoMIPS should be 2798.38. But I noticed in the sysinfo tab of the Tools menu in the Merlin setup, it shows "CPU Frequency 1400 MHz". Wondering...

    AC68P Overclocking

    I'm having trouble OCing my ac68p. After set clkfreq, " nvram get clkfreq" returns "1400,800" as it should, but "cat /proc/cpuinfo" returns bogomips of 1998.84 instead of the expected 2798.38. Also it seems nvram commit doesn't stick and it reverts to default after reboot. Running latest...

    If I am using a VPN's DNS through Merlins openvpn should I uninstall dnscrypt from the router?

    Merlin VPN for specific applications?

    I read that it is possible to configure the onboard VPN so that only certain app's traffic will route through it, leaving the rest of the traffic directly to the ISP. I believe this would involve proxy and a tunnel? Are there any guides or does anyone have some pointers that cover the basic steps?

    I updated my DNS servers and when I run pidof dnscrypt-proxy i get a couple numbers (1093 1085). Does this mean the DNS is encrypted? When I run dig debug.opendns.com txt I don't see "dnscrypt enabled (717473654A614970)". DNS tests do reflect the chosen servers. I know sometime before I saw...

    Does DNSSEC work while DNSCRYPT is running on Merlin? I understand OPENDNS doesn't support DNSSEC but what about the other servers?

    When enabling both the VPN and TOR functions in Merlin, which order do they route? I assume the TOR connection happens over the VPN rather than VPN over TOR. Is this correct?

    Follow up on my issue where DNSCrypt worked on router reboot then failed after a few minutes. The problem only occurs when I enable IPv6 in AsusMerlin . Its worked solid ever since I disabled IPv6.

    Reinstalled, same issue. Intermittent OpenDNS confirmation. I didn't install Entware, is that a requirement for DNSCrypt?

    Thanks for the tip. I wonder if it is related to the server selection. Does the router fallback to local DNS (leak) if the DNSCrypt fails to validate? I haven't reinstalled yet but I noticed it goes back and forth when using the OpenDNS test page. I'll try the reinstall and report back.

    I installed the script on my AC68u which went well rebooted and dnsleaktest and OpenDNS both show it's working. Then after a minute if I test again OpenDNS is not working and all servers revert to local google dns. When I reboot the router DNScrypt works for a minute or two before reverting.

    Do all AC1900Ps have the 1.4ghz clock? I've seen mixed reports. Furthermore does the extra 400ghz make a real world improvement for onboard VPN and routing?
