    Overclocking RT-AC56U

With DDWRT it will run about 6/7 degrees cooler. To overclock with the latest beta, save the nvram command as a startup command: nvram set clkfreq=1200,800 under "commands" tab, click on save startup then reboot! Don't use the built-in overclocking option!! ;)

    Overclocking RT-AC56U

Nope, they have probably reached a safe production stage, overclocking the AC56U is now safe. I keep mine at 1100,666 and it's on 24/7 managing a pretty big home network (laptops, tablets, phones, wifi appliances, extenders, NAS...). I tried 1100,800 but after a couple of days WiFi wasn't...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 is out

AC56U, updated from Beta 2, factory reset, restored manually all the settings, it has been working great for the last 10 hours, with all the AiSecurity settings turned on. There is a bug: whenever I go to the Traffic Analyzer page, that stalls the asuswrt webpage; Internet works fine, but I...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 Beta 2 is out

AC56U overclocked to 1100mhz, coming from stock then factory defaults, CFE 1.0.2.3, here is a big issue: all the AiProtection features are active; when router is rebooted RAM usage stays at 210mb, and doesn't decrease, not even after 10-15mins. If I do disable and re-enable one of the router Ai...

2 Asus AC56U - One home network only?

Hello guys, Need a little help here. I'm have two AC56U running the latest Merlin. The first one is connected to an ONT (fiber optic modem) and connects to the Internet using PPPoE, the second one is connected to the first AC56U and it's connected using L2TP native (no VPN tunnel, but L2TP on...

    L2TP/IPsec

Dude I don't know about your VPN provider, but every L2TP setup in Asus WRT and DD-WRT there is no need for any PSK. Just username + password + server IP, that's it. Check it out on the WAN side, you'll just need these 3 inputs.

    L2TP/IPsec

Actually OpenVPN is quite unstable on Asus WRT. I suggest you to use L2TP (is way faster than PPTP and waaaay more secure) and just a bit slower than OpenVPN (if you can keep the connection active - it drops continously). I suggest you to setup L2TP on the WAN setting page instead of the VPN...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.47 is out

RMerlin thanks so much for the new firmware. Just wanted to let you know that Multicast support (IGMP Proxy; IGMP Snooping; Udpxy) is broken: video stream begins normally and smoothly, but after that it gets interrupted every 30secs for about 20secs. Had to revert back to john9527's 374.43...
