AX86U and AT&T 1 gig upload speed problem

For me, Windows and Linux suffer equally. When either OS is connected directly to the ONT, blazing fast uploads. Behind the AX86U, 50% reduction. Yes, the speed tests are meaningless for troubleshooting this problem. I even tried putting a switch between the ONT and AX86U, no help. I'm probably...

AX86U and AT&T 1 gig upload speed problem

Sad to report that factory resetting my Asus router (both ways) had no effect. iPerf and FTP uploads are still in the 500Mbps range. :(

AX86U and AT&T 1 gig upload speed problem

No idea where that setting is on the AX86U.

AX86U and AT&T 1 gig upload speed problem

AT&T router is definitely in Passthrough mode. All ports are being forwarded as I had to go into the ASUS and forward some for Plex and a few other things. Single network cable goes from the AT&T modem into the WAN port of my ASUS router. No other devices hooked up to the AT&T modem. I don't see...

AX86U and AT&T 1 gig upload speed problem

I just got done doing as you suggested. Took the PC I was doing all my testing with (and getting 450Mbps with iPerf all the time) and hooked it straight into the AT&T modem...... bypassing my AX86U entirely........ I carried out the same iPerf tests to my friend down the street with AT&T 1 gig...

AX86U and AT&T 1 gig upload speed problem

I threw caution to the wind and did all of that and it made things SLIGHTLY better. Instead of getting my usual 450-500Mbps I'm now seeing a consistent 540Mbps but still not quite the 900+Mbps I should be getting. So..... looks like it's time to say goodbye to my AX86U. :( I'm leaning towards...

AX86U and AT&T 1 gig upload speed problem

Not sure it's a CPU load problem. When I'm uploading files or using iPerf to test things, only 1 of the 4 cpu cores gets to about 30%. The only options I have turned on are Traffic Analyzer and AI Protection. But yes, I'll give that a shot and disable those. Between work, my Plex server and kids...

AX86U and AT&T 1 gig upload speed problem

I've had my AX86U for well over a year I think. With my old ISP, I had 400/40 service and life was good. Less than a year ago, I got AT&T 1 gig service and put their modem in passthrough mode and pointed it at my Asus router and for MONTHS, I've been trying to figure out why I'm only getting...

AX86U Traffic Analyzer - Statistic under reports

Came here to see if anyone else was complaining about the incorrect bandwidth monitoring and glad to see I'm not alone. Currently, my AX-86U is running official fw v3.0.0.4.384_9318-gdbf18b0. I just switched QoS to traditional and will see if that fixes it. My old 1900 Asus router did a great...

    Release ASUS RT-AX86U 3.0.0.4.386.41535 30/12/2020

Bump... just wondering if 3.0.0.4.386_41535-g1caa24a is safe for the AX86U. Thanks Or should I grab that beta that came out a few days ago?

    Release ASUS RT-AX86U 3.0.0.4.386.41535 30/12/2020

I have an AX86 and was reading the AX92 41535 thread and saw all the problems that firmware caused for them. Is the 41535 update totally safe for the AX86? No problems reported?

Every 15 minutes my RT-AC1900P is acting weird

Looks like I can finally put this issue to rest, it was a 2 part combo. As crazy as it sounds, it came down to the Shield TV and the Apple TV in the family room. Shield TV powered up (wireless) and the family room Apple TV (wired)=internet crushing spikes every 15 minutes Shield TV powered off...

Every 15 minutes my RT-AC1900P is acting weird

I might be able to skip some of those steps as I think I narrowed down the problem to 1 (or more?) wireless devices; Apple TV 4 in bedroom (wireless) Apple TV 4 in living room (hard wired) iPhone 8Plus NVidia Shield TV (2019)* (wireless) Previsouly, when the spike would happen, one of my...

Every 15 minutes my RT-AC1900P is acting weird

When this happens, I don't see any corresponding spike in CPU or RAM usage on the router's status page. Another crazy update.......... now, when I see the lag spikes, I -DO- see the same spikes when pinging the cable modem where as originally, pinging other devices on my network and the cable...

Every 15 minutes my RT-AC1900P is acting weird

Not yet. Got sidetracked with things this morning and tomorrow morning will be busy too and through the week I'm just to busy to mess with this. Will try next weekend (if I get up early enough because no joke, my kids are all about getting online and playing with their friends and no internet...

Every 15 minutes my RT-AC1900P is acting weird

Another update.... turning off the router's firewall logging and removing the cat5 back haul cable didn't fix the problem. Powered the remote node off didn't fix the problem. I found another thread that describes my issue exactly...

Every 15 minutes my RT-AC1900P is acting weird

It's whatever the factory settings were in the router. I'll try turning logging off and see if that makes a difference. Also, I disconnected the iPhone from the internal network and the problem continues. Along with disabling FW logging, I think I'm going to remove the network cable from the...

Every 15 minutes my RT-AC1900P is acting weird

So this evening, I swapped the routers. Old setup: Router A main one Router B remote mesh node to new setup Router B is now the main one Router A is now the remote mesh node Did continuous pings to both and wouldn't you know it.... router -=B=- saw a spike of 2,000-3,000ms for a few seconds...

Every 15 minutes my RT-AC1900P is acting weird

Good idea. So my kids don't freak out about internet problems :) , I'll try and do this bright and early in the morning.

Every 15 minutes my RT-AC1900P is acting weird

Another experiment I just did..... I started a ping from my PC to the main router and the remote one at the same time and.... Ping to main router: 64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=764 ttl=64 time=0.193 ms 64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=765 ttl=64 time=0.237 ms 64 bytes from...
