Every 15 minutes my RT-AC1900P is acting weird

I checked and it looks like my lease expires every 24 hours.

Every 15 minutes my RT-AC1900P is acting weird

I have cable internet (400/20). When I get some free time, I'll carry out your tests.

Every 15 minutes my RT-AC1900P is acting weird

When the problem happens, the CPU/RAM load on the router is completely normal. No spikes anywhere. Not using any special features in it. Other than setting up the mesh stuff years ago, I keep the firmware up to date and everything else is factory default and I don't touch it.

Every 15 minutes my RT-AC1900P is acting weird

Been trying to troubleshoot an issue lately and wasn't sure if it's my cable modem, router or switch. What's happening is if I'm talking to somebody on my VoIP line (or using Teams for work) the audio gets distorted every 15 minutes for a few seconds. The problem will also manifest itself in...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Thanks for the explanation, you're the very first person (out of many websites) that finally went into details as to what's going on!! I still can't comprehend why somebody hasn't developed some sort of proxy that you can run on a PC that ALL home network traffic will flow through and take care...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

That is the basis of my main question. How in the world do simple little add-ons like Mikoto/UBlock/ABP block YT ads 100% of the time and why can't THAT technology be scaled up to a home network? What is the magic they are doing? Some sort of man-in-the-middle function!?

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Sorry, didn't mean to pollute the forums. The multiple posts wasn't a sign of anxiousness, just wanted to cast a wide net. Maybe people that use Skynet don't use Diversion?! If everyone read every forum, I guess the one would have sufficed. :) But, I could have sworn I've seen people state that...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

I recently made this post: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/is-total-youtube-ad-blocking-possible-at-the-router-level.53988/ How effective is Skynet (when coupled with Diversion and Pixel) at blocking YouTube ads network wide?

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

I recently made this post: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/is-total-youtube-ad-blocking-possible-at-the-router-level.53988/ .... how effective is Diversion (coupled with Skynet, Pixel) at blocking YouTube ads network wide?

Is TOTAL YouTube ad blocking possible at the router level?

Yes, those are two other packages I recently started to read up on. I'll post in their respective threads and see what people are saying about how effective they are at blocking YT ads.

Is TOTAL YouTube ad blocking possible at the router level?

I know that YouTube ads can be completely blocked with aps like Mikoto on jail-broken iDevices. I know you can stop YouTube ads with UBlock Origin and ABP on browsers. I know you can use YouTube Vanced on Android devices to eliminate ads. How exactly are all those apps blocking YouTube ads and...

RT-AC1900P CPU always pegged and SSH isn't working

My router is a RT-AC1900P, using factory firmware (3.0.0.4.384_20624). Every single day, core # 2 of my router is pegged at 100%. If i reboot it, after a few hours, it's right back to 100%. No gradual climb.... just goes from 0-5% for a few hours then shoots to 100% and stays there until I...

Major problems with home network, I'm desperate for help

When the server is copying a file from it's SSD to my PC (with SSD caching enabled), the network utilization is 99% the entire time. Can you do a multi-gig file transfer in between systems at your house and post a screen shot like that? Just curious what it looks like on another system.

Major problems with home network, I'm desperate for help

Server is a 120 gig SSD with about 40 gigs free. My PC beside it is a 480 gig SSD with 200 gigs free. NUC 1 and NUC 2 are both 256 gig SSD with about 120 gigs free on both. More clues for everyone.... on my server and NUC # 1, I noticed that in Device Manager/SSD hard drive/Policies.... "Enable...

Major problems with home network, I'm desperate for help

BANGING HEAD INTO WALL Just when I was breaking out the champaign to celebrate.......... got home tonight and copied that same test from the my server's SSD to my PC and........... 60MB/sec. Copying it to NUC # 1, 100+ MB/s the entire time. I can dual boot between Windows 7 on my PC down here...

Major problems with home network, I'm desperate for help

Update for everyone........ and interesting turn of events. My server has a SSD boot drive (C:) and 2, 4TB drives in RAID 1 (D:) and 2, 1.5TB drives in RAID 1 (E:). In the vast majority of my testing, I was reading .MKV movie files from my server's D: drive to my PC in the basement and the...

Major problems with home network, I'm desperate for help

So I got some tonight and used a cross-over cable between the server and my PC down here in the basement and the result was roughly 50MB/s. I installed USB 3.0 to Ethernet adapters in both and re-did the test with the cross over cable connected to the adapters, same result, crap speed. I tested...

Major problems with home network, I'm desperate for help

I still can't fathom why (when the NUCs are both hardwired into the router) my PC can push to one of them at roughly 100MB/s and the other at 50MB/s but when they're both hardwired into the router, they can push a 10 gig MKV back and forth at 90-100MB/s. This fact alone makes me want to put my...

Major problems with home network, I'm desperate for help

My NUCs connect to 802.11AC at 866Mbps (I think that was the link speed.) So judging by that, if I turn off one of the NUCs and transfer files from my PC to that NUC on wireless, can I expect 90MB/s? And maybe this is my lack of understanding of 802.11AC, I'm fairly certain I was able to...
