[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Thanks for the suggestion. I don't have Download Master enabled, just the basic functions used really plus VPN so I can access my Internet connection when abroad.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I'm using V16E1 and have been with the fork since the beginning, so thought I should post my problem here first. Though probably not firmware related, I'm wondering if my RT-N66U is faulty. I'm constantly losing access to the GUI, the router fails to respond until I turn it off and on again...

Help with creating file in JFFS

I'm trying to create a file in JFFS and using the following command admins@RT-N66U:/tmp/home/root# cat << EOF > /jffs/test.txt > #!/bin/sh > EOF -sh: can't create /jffs/test.txt: Read-only file system I always get this 'Read-only file system' error when trying to create any file. 'Enable JFFS...

Aicloud Android app update.. merlin firmware issue or Asus?

I had the same problem when the app updated. I went into android settings, Apps, stopped the app and deleted the data and cache for AiCloud, opened the app again and went through the set up wizard and then it was working as it should. May work for you too.

Thanks for looking into it, leave things as they are then.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.33 is out

I can say for sure that the BT network in the UK uses 1500. Whilst using Tomato firmware 1500 was fully working. Using Asus firmware and setting by eth0, vlan2 and ppp0, seems to work mostly for me, but occasionally some sites fail to load. I was wondering if setting manually this way is missing...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.33 is out

It was just a question to Merlin to ask if the PPoE MTU/MRU 1492 restriction could be removed on the WAN set up page. If it can it would be great, if it can't then we can continue to set to 1500 by other means.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.33 is out

Yes, but not through the GUI. Would be helpful to be able to set it to 1500 on the WAN set up page if the restriction was removed.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.33 is out

Thank you for the firmware. I wanted to ask if the restriction of max MTU of 1492 on PPoE could be removed to allow 1500? At least one major ISP in the UK, (BT), has a network that uses this setting. The router they supply has PPoE at MTU 1500, would be nice if we could do the same. Thank you.

BT Infinty, PPPoE and 1500 MTU

The BT infrastructure supports RFC4638, the router they supply supports it, and the RT-N66U hardware supports it. It was quite easy to implement with a little research. If anyone in the UK using the BT network wants to use the RT-N66U with MTU 1500 here's how. Telnet in and then The...

BT Infinty, PPPoE and 1500 MTU

In the UK BT Infinity supports an MTU of 1500, but I can only input up to 1492 on the PPPoE WAN set up with Merlin's 374_32 (and probably all previous versions). Is there a way to set it to 1500 by CLI? I was reading about it here, PPPoE and RFC 4638. I know 1492 was always the max MTU for a...

Gigabit Switches, any daisy chain effect?

I see, so you could use a switch just to keep two devices which regularly swap a lot of data between them, separated from the rest of the network.

Gigabit Switches, any daisy chain effect?

That's worth knowing too. I think I can guess the answer to this, but will ask just confirm...if two devices are on the same switch and are transferring data, that data has to go from device one to the router, then back down through the switch to device two. And, if that switch is itself on...

Gigabit Switches, any daisy chain effect?

I've got most devices, (PC, VOIP adapter, printer), connected to the router through a gigabit switch. There is also a CAT6 extension down to another room, with another gigabit switch for TV, AMP, HTTPC, PVR. I'm now thinking to resite the router (RT-N66U), and this would mean using another...

AiCloud and access to the LAN

Thank you for the suggestion, I changed to 'share without account' though still connection fails. Password is set. I'll have a look at some other settings.

AiCloud and access to the LAN

Yes, I can do that, and access all shares. I only can't connect to the PCs through AiCloud.

AiCloud and access to the LAN

I've got AiCloud working in that I can see the USB disk attached to the router, that's great, but can't gain access to other shares. The AiCloud welcome screen shows PCs on the LAN, and if asleep I can wake them up, but when I click on one connect I get the message "Connection failed!". They...

    Asus .370 F/W released today

I'm thinking of coming back from Tomato to a stock firmware, (don't need QoS anymore), can I ask if this version has a block website access with keyword feature? Thank you.
