    AX68 vs Alien

As an owner of a single AX68, I'm curious how you like Merlin. Unlike you, my needs are far less stringent so I've stuck with ASWRT which has been rock solid. This being the 4th Asus router I've owned, its by FAR the best in all ways

    Asus DDNS Auto Reconnect?

While I realize what I'm asking has nothing to do with this thread, as an expert on Asus routers, I'm wondering if you can tell me why there have been no firmware updates for the AX-68U since 11/22..I have no complaints about the performance whatsoever, but having owned an AC68P which is far...

    RT-AX68U showing phantom wired connections

Interesting..just looked at mine and its accurate..strange for sure..this has been the best Asus router I've owned to date though its odd the firmware hasn't been updated since 11/28/22 though

    RT-AX68U showing phantom wired connections

Just checked mine and I don't see anything like this at all..where are you seeing this? On the Traffic Analyzer page mine shows "No clients" with a large orange circle..similar to you, the router is connected to the modem, desktop and my power network device but nothing else..are you running...

RT-AX86U - 2.4 Ghz Network is NOT working anymore (was working before)

Having returned an AX68U for repair after a troubleshooting chat, be advised that if they determine it can't be repaired they'll ship a refurbished unit. The one they shipped me had a problem and it was replaced with a brand new unit which has worked flawlessly. If possible, I"d suggest you ask...

How bad is the new AX57?

Couldn't agree more..I upgraded from an AC68P to the AX68U and its one of the best Asus routers I've owned. Speedy, great range and FAR cooler running than my previous ones, and overall a rock solid device. Asus shows it available on the firmware page and there are quite a few on Ebay too

    Upgrading from AC66U to AX56U or AX58U

FYI, on the Asus United States page it shows the RT-AX68U for $109.99 which is a spanking deal: https://tinyurl.com/2a8ukyg5

    Upgrading from AC66U to AX56U or AX58U

I upgraded from the AC68P to the AX68U and its by FAR the best Asus router I've owned. Runs much cooler than the AC68, as well as superior in range and speed and has been rock solid with the ASWRT firmware. I've seen it on Amazon for $110 too.

Asus RT-AX56U keeps disconnecting my smart devices

While I'm not the networking expert like many of the members, I also have the AX68U running the latest ASWRT firmware and its been rock solid. And while I understand that Merlin is tweaked I also see LOTS of issues posted by people that use it. So my suggestion would be to try stock firmware and...

RED LIGHT - New RT-AX88U Pro - can connect to Modem via WAN port (stays red)

My pleasure though its clear you haven't solved it yet. I always keep a back up router (AC68P) so it might be worth it to do a troubleshooting session with support and let them decide if its defective. IF they do feel it is, I'd recommend you request a NEW rather than refurbished unit especially...

RED LIGHT - New RT-AX88U Pro - can connect to Modem via WAN port (stays red)

I noticed your post and wanted to mention that I'd purchased a one year old AX-68U on Ebay which had the same problem and after chatting with support, it was shipped to the repair center. After inspecting it, they shipped me a factory sealed unit to replace and stated the WAN port was bad. You...

    ASU’s rt-ax82u v2 gnu/merlin firmware?

Sorry to chime in, but I have the AX68U so I'm curious how you like the AX82U though the fact you mention returning it has me wonder. And I personally prefer ASWRT to Merlin since I see too many threads posted about problems when using it. Regardless I hope you find the solution you seek. Thanks

    RT-AX68U Availability

Not sure what you mean :( Read a CNN story about Merlin that said if its not installed properly, it can brick a router. I have a Mac desktop believe it or not, and from my experience most APK's are designed for PC. Regardless I'm extremely happy with the AX68U and ASWRT firmware

    RT-AX68U Availability

I appreciate the response and information. I tend towards 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' paradigm however but am always open to trying out new things especially if they IMPROVE status quo!

    RT-AX68U Availability

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Merlin rely on ASWRT updates and is also gauged for users who need more advanced features? Unlike most of the members, I have a simple network that includes a power line setup and only a few WiFi devices. The router works great with ASWRT but it appears they...

    RT-AX68U Availability

There are those who NEED to be right, and those who listen. And while on the topic, I love my RT-AX68U and while its been solid as a rock, its interesting there have been no firmware updates since November..Not a big deal, just curious :)

    RT-AX68U Availability

For the life of me I can't figure out why people bash one of the best AX routers Asus designed. And as you know, its difficult to find ANY threads about problems members have with it. That in itself is rare!

    RT-AX68U Availability

So you got rid of it based on biased reviews? I received one manufactured last year and its been the BEST router I've owned. Great range, excellent speeds, runs cooler than any other Asus router I'd owned. If you look through this forum you'll have a hard time finding posts about problems with...

    RT-AX68U Availability

I'd suggest you search this forum for threads that show problems with this model..you'll notice there are tons for the AX86U and others. Having owned four others by Asus, this is BY FAR the best one I've purchased

    RT-AX68U Availability

The new one Asus sent me has a 2022 manufacture date so its possible its discontinued. Regardless, I feel its a great device and having owned four other Asus routers, its by far the best of any
