"Trend Micro, Inc." Apps caught stealing and uploading browser history

Utah's Xmission Keeps Customer Data Private Keep in mind that not ALL ISPs are evil. Primary reason I choose XMission as my provider from the over half-dozen ISPs that currently offer 1Gbps service over Utopia FTTH is due to Pete Ashdown's record on protecting their customer's privacy. It is...

"Trend Micro, Inc." Apps caught stealing and uploading browser history

As one who has never enabled AiProtection, Traffic Monitor, ect on my AC86U (never agreed too pop-up prompts) I take it I should be 'safe' from any Trend Micro data mining? Suppose it would be impossible to remove this specific code to create a 'Trend Micro free build' due to the way Asus...

Today's delightful new problem (10gbit/s connection incoming)

Could this be the 1st consumer-level wireless router that could potentially support >1Gbps WAN? Understand this was never its intended purpose since this feature was added after the fact via firmware and I don't believe Tim benchmarked the SPF+ throughput as part of his original review here...

These VPN Services Can Easily Be Hacked

https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/wiki/Openvpn24ManPage According to the OpenVPN man page this command is DEPRECATED This option will be removed in a future OpenVPN release. Use the newer --compress instead. FWIW: If using comp-lzo no in my OpenVPN client config fails to connect to my...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

It has happened 2x now when I am not logged in and have left no browser opened to http://192.168.1.1/ Seems completely random and never occurred when I was operating on the previous test build since the beginning of July prior to updating to this final release.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

Well, another 6 days later the web GUI has no response again while everything else functions normally. Issued another service restart_httpd command via ssh and it immediately makes it responsive. Seems I may be the only one experiencing this specific problem w/this build on my AC86U:rolleyes:

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

So after @14 days uptime (flashed on zero day) of this build operating on my AC86U gateway router, I have lost access to the web GUI at the router's IP address of 192.168.1.1 Tried from multiple computers either IE or chrome (wired&wireless) but http://192.168.1.1 now fails to respond and times...

    30 days - typical usage?

FWIW: After faithfully tracking WAN bandwidth usage stats thru gateway router persisted saved to NVRAM, quit caring over a year ago since my ISP has never made any attempt to enforce their 'soft' 2TB limit...makes me wonder why they even list it!?

Asus AC68U VPN configuration for allowing the same local network IP range

Got a pair of WRT160N's flashed with DD-WRT V24 that work great and support OpenVPN Different strokes for diff folks I suppose but exclusively using TAP for over an entire decade w/o issue in order to connect remote client routers...YMMV!:D

Asus AC68U VPN configuration for allowing the same local network IP range

This can be accomplished via TAP shown in the OpenVPN server settings exampled above as operating using my AC-86U OpenVPN gateway server... Incoming connected clients are assigned specified pool 192.168.1.200-220 with max being 8 simultaneous due to custom config...

ASUS RT-AC66u Accessing Past Bandwidht/Traffic Logfiles

Actually the best advice given yet in this thread. It is sad but true you may have to pay more in order to 'avoid' paying even more I suppose!:(

ASUS RT-AC66u Accessing Past Bandwidht/Traffic Logfiles

Several years ago was using shibby's tomato firmware (when he was still an active developer) to track total WAN bandwidth saved to NVRAM (persists even when router was rebooted or following firmware flash) on my gateway wireless router pictured above prior to eventually upgrading to 1Gbps...

    Need Router Recommendation

I would think the next logical testing metric Tim should consider implementing if he hasn't begun already would be for 10GE WAN throughput. UTOPIA Fiber to Launch State’s First Residential 10 Gig Service Since we first started several years ago here initially capped at 250Mbps then eventually...
