Asus EA-N66 will not connect to 5GHz channels 149 and above

:oI completely missed your location being in Denmark.

Asus EA-N66 will not connect to 5GHz channels 149 and above

My Dlink DAP1522 units support up to channel 165. I have eight of them and they all can use up to channel 165. I was looking at the EA-N66 today since BestBuy has it on sale for $90. I'm thinking about switching out my last two DAP1522 units used as APs. And using the EA-N66 for one Ap and my...

RT-N66U Setup When Behind Another Router?

If it's like FiOS then you can put the router before or after. I have FiOs and I've run my personal router in front of the FiOS router and also after without any issues in the past. I do use Ethernet from my ONT though. But even when running behind my router, the FiOS router sent info to the...

    ASUS RT-N56U Port Fowarding

Do you have UPnP enabled? Accroding to MS, that should be all that is needed to get an open NAT on an XBOX360. At least from a router that implements it properly. On my Rt-N56U, I was getting a moderate NAT on my 360s. I tried port forwarding, but that is only a solution for one 360 and I...

    RT-N56U as a Bridge?

Are you sure nothing else is using that IP address?

New Asus RT-N65U Dualband Wireless N750 Gigabit Router

Wow. For only $130 at Newegg that sounds like a good deal. But I'm still happy with my recent RT-N56U purchase because of the excellent custom firmware option.

    Gigabit speed possible over Cat5?

I only know that I have never seen a true Cat5 cable get gigabit speeds. We have $10K+ cable testers at work that will verify the cable specs. And every cable we have ever tested, that was only made to true Cat5 specs, was not able to connect at gigabit speeds. While every cable we've tested...

    Gigabit speed possible over Cat5?

I've been getting 900Mb/s+ throughput on my network for many, many years. (I first went gigabit at home back in 2001, but back then I was only getting around 550Mb/s throughput, PC to PC, when I would do my weekly transfer of my OTA HD recordings to my PC I used for network storage) I had been...

Good quality wireless router for sharing a 100/10M line

No need for an Enterprise router for only 100mb/s WAN speed. Even my five year old DGL4500 had no issue with speeds faster than that on the WAN port when I tested it. I just set up my RT-N56U this past weekend and this weekend I'l be getting my speed upgrade from 35/35 to 150/65 on FiOS...

    Asus RT-N56U Reviewed

I'm using several Dlink Gigabit Switches with this router without any issues. I had three dozen devices on the network before I switched to the custom firmware. I never saw the "you have the wrong dynamic or static IP address for your RT-N56U" error page when I was on the last official firmware...

    Asus RT-N56U Reviewed

Thanks. I just downloaded this and installed it. I was having issues with my Boxee Boxes with the last official released firmware I had to turn on QoS for the Boxee Boxes to even work properly for some reason. This custom firmware is working great so far with the three dozen devices I've checked...

    ASUS RT-N56U beta firmware

I did not see a way to release the WAN IP address with this firmware. I had to go back to v1.0.1.8g firmware to be able to release my WAN IP address. I can't switch back and forth between my old router and the ASUS if I can't release the IP address from my FIOS ONT each time before switching.

    Releasing WAN IP for RT-N56U

Ok it must be something with the firmware I was using. I went back to 1.0.1.8g and it allows the WAN Ip to be released.

    Releasing WAN IP for RT-N56U

How do I release the WAN IP address on the ASUS RT-N56U? On the network map page I can turn off/on the internet connection but it doesn't release the IP address. I need to be able to release the Ip from my FiOS ONT so I switch my routers back and forth. With my DLink it had a clearly labeled...

    ASUS RT-N56U beta firmware

I set up my RT-N56U this morning and installed this beta, but is there a final firmware with the new GUI? When I checked the firmwares from the link in the router the newest one had the old GUI. Where can I find a final firmware with the new GUI?

    Gigabit speed possible over Cat5?

The gigabit spec was designed for Cat5e cables. However a true Cat5 cable cannot achieve gigabit speeds. But many cat5 cables were built to cat5e specs. Once the specs were proposed, many manufacturers started making them to the Cat5 e specs. At work we have thousands of true cat5 patch cables...

Fios speeds get the 1/3 cut when router gets connected

It almost sounds like you are getting a 100BT connection instead of a 1000BT connection which is needed for the faster speeds.

    Asus RT-N56U Reviewed

So is the DHCP reservation limit now at 32? I will be using the RT-N56U to replace my DGL4500 router which had a 24 DHCP reservation unit. SO as long as I have at least 24 I will be happy since I only use reservations for a couple dozen of my devices. The rest can be assigned any IP address.

    RT-AC66U available in June?

Newegg has the RT-AC66U in stock and for sale right now. I decided to go with an ASUS RT-N56U for now to replace my aging Dlink DGL4500. I already use four Dlink DAP1522 units as Access Points in addition to the wireless router, so I really don't need to pay the extra money for an 802.11ac unit...

Wireless bridge/access point replacement for Dlink DAP-1522

What has been the issue with the DAP1522 units? I'm currently using eight of them. I have four setup as APs and four setup as bridges. They have worked flawlessly and can be quickly setup. I've been running several of them 24/7/365 for around three years with no issues.
