Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285

The firmware version I mentioned is available at the Asus support/download website. Once downloaded you can perform a manual firmware upload via the administrator menu in the router config webpage.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285

I would not dare to update if everything is working fine right now. There is a fair chance that an update will break a stable backhaul. I’m completely cured when it comes to Asus firmware updates and (despite the security fixes and new features) will stay on 3.0.0.4.386_48706, which provides me...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285

If I were you I would just revert back to firmware version: 3.0.0.4.386_48706 18 day's rock solid without any backhaul issues. I'm completely done and lost confidence with the Asus firmware updates. I will stay at 48706 for now, despite the security fixes within the new builds.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285

I reverted back to 48706, because I had severe backhaul stability issues when DFS channels switched to radar active. Firmware 48706 is able to switch from 160MHz to 80MHz in case DFS channels switch to radar active, this does not work in 23285. Seems like all firmware releases after 48706 fail...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285

My setup was solid for 15 days, but this morning the main router rebooted without a logical reason. I did not see any errors in the log and did not have any power issues at home.

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285

Hi michel30 You're RSSI value (-79dBm) is not really great. I think this could be a reasons that you're backhaul falls back to AC or worse. My RSSI value fluctuates between -62 and -67dBm, which is to my opinion reasonable to maintain a stable AX 160MHz backhaul connection. But even in my...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285

Did just update to the latest firmware and the wireless backhaul is set to 80MHz with auto settings. For the record, I updated from the previous release without changing settings or applying a factory reset. By default I had a 160MHz backhaul connection with the previous release..... Edit: just...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23285

I'm going to upgrade from the previous 388 release to this one, without doing a factory reset. Just to test if this works better for me then doing a full factory reset. Hope this release fixes the backhaul issue from reverting back to 2.4GHz after +/- 10 days of uptime. 🤞

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23012

Reverting back to 3.0.0.4.386.48706 solves my backhaul frequency issues (5GHz > 2,4GHz).

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23012

I have to recall that this firmware is not as stable as the 386 branch ( 3.0.0.4.386.48706). After +/- 10 days the wireless backhaul reverts from 5GHz 160MHz to a poor 2,4GHh connection. The solution is to reboot the satellite node to regain the 5GHz connection. This issue has surfaced for the...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23012

I came from 3.0.0.4.386.48706, because the previous updates were problematic on my wireless backhaul performance. On my 3.0.0.4.386.48706 setup I manually configured my wireless backhaul to ensure a 160MHz AX connection. With this latest release everything is working very well with auto...
