Problem with Wireless MAC Filter using the RT-ASUS66U

I don't know about forcing your computer to just use one band . . Have you named the two frequencies with different SSIDs? Then you can at least choose which one to connect to (maybe you can anyway, but with different names it is obvious when you connect).

    network monitor--KB/s?

Hmmm . .yesterday when I described that behavior (Amazon/Roku) we were watching Falling skies. Today we are watching The Lorax on Netflix/Roku (MY KID IS PICKING THESE HONESTLY). I'm not seeing the same pattern. It's spiky but pretty constant, and eyeballing it looks like around 500KB/s...

    network monitor--KB/s?

Ok, that's what I thought. Thanks. Which makes watching this traffic monitor pretty interesting. We're streaming on Amazon Prime (Roku) and the behavior is interesting. I always assumed these streaming devices would sort of have a constant data usage. So, if you have, say, a 30Mbps...

    network monitor--KB/s?

Sorry if this is an insanely stupid question . . . . and in general I find the available documentation on the admin panels to be thin and sparse, so any thing you can point me to on more comprehensive documentation would be appreciated . . . . but the KB/s in the network monitor--is...

    Mystery Device or Router Hacked....

With so few devices (you quote four or five) why not enable MAC filtering? And what information does it give you when you click the MAC address? I can't rename the host on some of my android devices but when I click the mac address I get manufacturer information (eg, Samsung or LG) that is...

problem with galaxy s3 and this router

I have this installed on my S3--you lose some of the benefits if you aren't rooted but I like it anyway for its monitoring. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.onexuan.battery&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5vbmV4dWFuLmJhdHRlcnkiXQ.. It's called "One Power...

Do you feel Asus has abandoned support for the AC66U?

I hope this isn't it. I replaced a 4th gen Airport Extreme with this router. And it got updates throughout its life. And for all it's apple douchiness, it was rock solid and I never had a single solitary issue with it for three years. I had to reboot my router today (two days old, was up...

Excessive latency on all connections with high spikes

Hmm. I wasn't having latency issues that I know of--but my 2.4 channel did stop responding all together after a day of uptime. I had to reboot the router. Needless to say I'm not impressed yet. I had half settled on the Netgear 6300 or 6250 but kept coming back to the awesome reviews of...

Apple's New AirPort Extreme Offers No Innovation

I just replaced my 4th Gen AE with the ASUS AC router. Primarily because I wanted more coverage in the house, which it has provided in spades. Places where I was lucky to get a signal now have full coverage. And the ASUS administration seemed to offer more flexibility than the Airport...
