Using NG N750 as AP to ASUS RT-AC68U

I setup my old Netgear N750 router as an access point in my family room yesterday. My AC68U is running 380.70 version of the firmware. N750 is connected via ethernet cable to the AC68U. So N750 is set to AP mode, and cable from AC68U to N750 is connected to the WAN port of the N750. I have 4...

Updates not working - no error message

Thanks! That solved the problem. Going from .65 to .68 didn't work (but did get a progress bar). Going from 65 -> 66 -> 67 -> 68 worked fine.

Updates not working - no error message

I've been doing it with Chrome, but I'll try it with Edge. It's pretty vanilla. I do have a browser based VPN (PIA), but it is turned off when I do this.

Updates not working - no error message

Well, that's why I like to update my router - for security fixes. just not overly included to reset the router and reapply things. With my luck, I could end up even worse off. Just seems strange. I've pretty regularly updated in the past and other than when going from 78 to 80, it's just been...

Updates not working - no error message

I'll think about it. Right now, other than the inability to update the firmware, things are running fine.

Updates not working - no error message

Not overly keen to do that. I'll probably be swapping this one out for a new one in 2018. Focused on range.

Updates not working - no error message

After a short period of time (15 seconds), it goes back to Router Login Screen. Never lost connectivity to the router, nor did the router lose it to the internet; nor did the router reboot (all of which you would expect during a firmware update).

Updates not working - no error message

Ok - did that, and exact same results. Tried to go from .65 to .66. Loaded the file. Clicked on update. Screen went immediately to "Applying Updates - Please Wait" and stayed there. After a couple of minutes, I refreshed the page, and I came back to a login prompt. Logged in, and still on .65...

Updates not working - no error message

I have an RT68U with 380.65 installed. I had been gone several months, and when I got back, downloaded 380.68 (also .67 and .66). I first tried installing .68. I immediately got a screen that settings were being updated - after several minutes with nothing else happening, I logged back into the...

    Upgrade from fork to Merlin

Thanks - installing 378.55 first and then 378.59 solved my problem.

    Upgrade from fork to Merlin

Went to upgrade my AC68U from the latest fork code 374.43.2-17E8j9527 to Merlin's latest 380.59. It was seeming to proceed normally - "thermometer" went through entire cycle and took about 3 minutes - and then screen refreshed and I was still on the fork code. No error messages were displayed...

Asus AC68U vs Asus AC88U range, temperature and stability

With regard to AC68U and Smart Connect, I just was just on the phone with Sprint because I was having issues with WiFi calling with my Galaxy S6. They were suggesting I use their router that was designed to work better with WiFi calling, in part because it has a Smart Connect feature. The...

    AC68U Frequently dying on me

Thanks - I will do that - but I do leave on a vacation tomorrow. I will wait till I return on the 28th to do so. I don't presume that the 2.0 boot loader is in any way the source of this problem. To get your latest code, I first had to load a release of the stock ASUS code to get the 2.0 boot...

    AC68U Frequently dying on me

Well yesterday, about two hours after my previous post, same thing happened again. System died. No connections via wifi nor ethernet. Could not ping the device. Reverted to the Fork code which had been stable for me. Will see how that goes. The day before, to give myself what I hoped was a...

    AC68U Frequently dying on me

Ok - but what size is the trigger point to be concerned about. just did a ls -lS /tmp and top files are: -rw-rw-rw- 1 admin root 83668 Dec 12 20:53 upnpc_xml.log -rw-rw-rw- 1 admin root 76063 Dec 13 10:14 syslog.log This is after about 16.5 hours of uptime. At what...

For what it's worth, just did a df and /tmp shows only 1% full after my last reboot which was about 5 hours ago.

Thanks, will monitor things first. If looks sketchy, will try 380.57.
