Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

I can reach bin.entware.net without a problem in a browser. I can also ping it from within Putty. The install eventually finished although I'm not sure what the "Sementation fault" means. Here are the screenshots from the install.

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

So I'm having additional issues. When attempting to install Diversion, it is showing 23+ hours to install. Obviously it is failing to download the required files. I'm able to ping www.google.com from putty, so any thoughts as to why this might be happening? Update - so now it finally moved on...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

I may have to research this more. If I connect directly from a computer, then I'm connecting to the LAN port and am again without internet to that router.

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

So apparently connecting to ONLY the WAN port on the test router is not sufficient. I also had to connect an ethernet cable between the LAN ports as well before I could access the test router interface. Let me know if that doesn't sound correct.

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Hmm. I tried that and I don't seem to be able to get internet to the test router. The test router can have the DHCP configured for a different subnet as well with no issue? I must be doing something wrong.

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Maybe I misunderstood. So you are saying to connect the second router to my existing router that already has internet? And connect the ethernet cable from the live router's LAN port to the second router's WAN port?

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

I thought about that but I wanted to avoid disconnecting from the internet if possible.

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Well it turns out that I didn't have an internet connection to that router because I had it connected off of my existing router. I'm trying to configure it without disconnecting my existing router. Can I do that by using Media Bridge mode or disabling DHCP? *Edit. I should probably clarify that...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

So here's something odd I just encountered while trying to install AMTM on a new Asus AC-87 router. After ensuring that the JFFS partition was wiped, I inserted the USB drive into the USB slot on the back and confirmed it appears when logging into the router. I then attempted to enter the...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Is it acceptable to remove the backup files in the /opt/share/diversion/backup location? When using the option in diversion to check if a domain is present, it's showing host files that no longer exist because it checks the backup location and some of these are not longer being used in my custom...

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Did you import the Pixelserve certificate's on the connected devices? See here: https://github.com/kvic-z/pixelserv-tls/wiki/Create-and-Import-the-CA-Certificate.

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

    That helps a lot. Thanks!

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Well that might explain it. I used Notepad ++ to format the domain list and add the 0.0.0.0 to the front of each line. Is there a better way to build those lists? Also can you explain how to use the entware grep?

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Can you guys help me figure this out? I had some trouble over the weekend with getting some urls to be blocked with Diversion using a custom host file. So I started from scratch and only have a single hostfile enabled that contains 561 domains. That host file in raw format can be found here...

Using DNSMasq to force google safe search returns 404 error

Oops, I had a lapse in memory. I was debugging a blacklist earlier today and disabled diversion and forgot to re-enable. Sorry about that. It's working great now. So based on what I can tell, if the site is in a blacklist within Diversion, it is blocked there first and then goes on to...

Using DNSMasq to force google safe search returns 404 error

The behavior is the same whether the DNS Filter is on or off. There are no clients specified as the global mode is set to router.

Using DNSMasq to force google safe search returns 404 error

I updated the router settings per your advice. I also rebooted my router and PC. Still the same and when I test an ad site, they are present and the Diversion log is quiet. Also, when I visit https://dnsleaktest.com, it shows Cleanbrowsing.org as my DNS. You must have a setting somewhere else...

Using DNSMasq to force google safe search returns 404 error

Ok, I think I'm getting closer, but with the settings you stated by setting the Global Filter mode to router and not specifying any clients, I then set the WAN DNS 1 and 2 as you said. When I visit an ad site, Diversion does not filter the ads. Can you check my below settings to confirm...

Using DNSMasq to force google safe search returns 404 error

You mean like this? I have tried this and any devices assigned to CleanBrowsing's DNS will not use Diversion. Are you getting results a different way?

Using DNSMasq to force google safe search returns 404 error

I presume that is not a setting I can change on the router to force clients to use the router as the DNS server? I was hoping not to have to change settings at a device level if possible.
