    RT-AC68 - New firmware 3.0.0.4.376_3602 (AVOID)

This is MASSIVE! I am glad I am not alone but this is absolutely insane. Not only do you lose 5GHz channels, but you cannot even choose the few you do have. The power output seems to be lower than it should, and I cannot get 80Mhz to work either as Maghook said! I posted as quickly as I...

    RT-AC68 - New firmware 3.0.0.4.376_3602 (AVOID)

I did what I believe to be the best reset, which is to telnet into the router and erase the nvram. I don't get why I don't have the same channel list I had before I updated the firmware! I had my router on channel 112. Now i can't select it, and the performance I am getting, even with the...

    RT-AC68 - New firmware 3.0.0.4.376_3602 (AVOID)

Hmm..it gets worse. After reverting back to the older firmware, the channels have still not returned despite doing a factory reset again.

    RT-AC68 - New firmware 3.0.0.4.376_3602 (AVOID)

I am truly horrified. Asus have released a firmware that totally decimates my 5GHz WiFi. I am based in the UK. Firstly, the DFS support has disappeared (even after a full factory reset). The only frequencies are 36,40,44 and 48. Even if I change the channel to 48, it is still stuck on 36. And...

    NEW RT-AC68R FIRMWARE OUT 376.1665

The EX6200 was released in January in the US (March in the UK). I thought these requirements were in place late last year. Asus are updating the firmware to tighten this up on an item released before the rule changes came into play. So if Netgear still want to sell their EX6200, they should also...

    NEW RT-AC68R FIRMWARE OUT 376.1665

That's why I am very surprised about the Netgear EX6200. It is a model only released within the last 6 months or so, and it has a region drop-down selection in the web interface. So Netgear aren't following the very things they were critical of Asus about it seems!

    NEW RT-AC68R FIRMWARE OUT 376.1665

But enforcement should be consistent...I was playing with Netgears latest extender the EX6200 and you can actually change you region in a simple menu drop-down in the web interface! So I don't understand why Asus is having to be so protective of the region settings and not Netgear. If someone...

    AC68U Mediabridge + USB 3 = Problem

Yes I have also been struggling with something similar to this, but not using the USB 3.0 port. Like the post above mine, I have a NAS box connected by hardwire Ethernet to the RT-AC68U. I then have a second RT-AC68U, and if I try a file copy from the NAS box, it crawls along at about 2MB...

    RT-AC68U and SONOS

Just a warning though if you have more than one RT-AC68U....the one Sonos device that is connected on Ethernet MUST be connected to the main router and not a media bridge one. The bug that afflicted the RT-AC68U about 3-4 firmwares ago seems to have not been fixed in all places and the problem...

    ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.5656

Well I saw a 1300Mbps link for the first time ever with my two RT-AC68U's today after installing 5656. It is moving between 1053 and 1300, but on the older firmwares I never got higher than 877! So something has improved there even though its not documented.

    Beta Version 3.0.0.4.374.4887

Sonos update for Merlin in case he has any ideas I have cured my Sonos problem by directly connecting the "one" wired Sonos zone to the main RT-AC68U. Previously it was connected to a second media bridge AC68U. My suspicion is that whatever fix was done for Sonos, two builds ago, was not...

    Beta Version 3.0.0.4.374.4887

I must admit I know little about what is "special" about Sonos devices that makes them have issues over the years with compatibility. But the Asus routers have always been fine with them for me, until the very same firmware came out that caused all the reboots. Something was introduced at the...

    Beta Version 3.0.0.4.374.4887

But they still haven't fixed the Sonos bug that causes Sonos zones to drop-off one by one after a while.......this was introduced 3 firmwares ago and the fix they list for this in the second firmware did NOT fix the problem! *sigh*

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561 is out

Tried exactly what you said. STILL reboots. No change

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561 is out

Have noticed this latest firmware still gradually causes Sonos zones to disappear 1 by 1......*sigh*. They really messed up here....

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561 is out

It's so frustrating because the new firmwares introduced the extra frequencies for the 5GHz range. I have a pair of cordless headphones (Sony) that work on 5GHz at the same channels as the original EU frequencies for WiFi (46-52). I was getting interference issues. But when the channels like 100...

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561 is out

Merlin has direct interaction with Asus. Asus already know they have this bug. The problem is they cannot reproduce it and until they do, they cannot fix it. So while you absolutely should report it, the lack of an immediate fix is not because Asus don't know they have a problem.

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561 is out

I am wondering if its connected with devices that connect to both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. I got my first reboot after my phone decided to drop the 5GHz connection and switch to the 2.4GHz one....

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561 is out

Although not related to the crashing, why are my logs being filled with Feb 24 08:38:35 miniupnpd[672]: sendto(udp): Operation not permitted Feb 24 08:42:25 miniupnpd[672]: Expired NAT-PMP mapping port 5001 TCP removed Feb 24 08:47:25 miniupnpd[672]: Expired NAT-PMP mapping port 5001 TCP...

ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.4561 is out

Glad they specifically acknowledged the Sonos bug and fix. Running okay with this build now. Does anyone know specifically what happens in the EU if you choose a channel like 100 without the DFS tick box being enabled? Technically I guess this means you are running illegally?
