Impossible to answer without: 1. Region/country 2. What is Smart Connect expected to do, better range or keep the clients to their expected bands/performance 3. Based on the above, clients type and number may help

Inter SSID Traffic not Routing on a RT-AX86U Pro

On a RT-AX86U Pro running 3.0.0.6.102_34336 main LAN WiFi clients on the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz network can ping each other without issue. Edit to add: Smart Connect is off so each WiFi band has it's own unique SSID name.

RT-BE86U - how to disable Smart connect?

Smart connect works by using one SSID and Password for all bands. You need to separate the bands by using separate SSID's and passwords for each band. Have you tried using a guest network to isolate just the smoke detectors? You may also want to "set AP Isolated" to ON.

Moen U Shower will not connect to AX86U Pro but was fine with AC86U

Look at it as a troubleshooting step to disable Smart Connect and manually configure your WiFi. Some have found Smart Connect isn't so smart and they have better luck disabling it.

Thanks, that appears to be what I'm seeing (as well as explains what @ExtremeFiretop sees)! I wasn't following this RT-BE86U thread.

    Asuswrt Merlin 3006.102.3 Alpha1 for GT-BE98 Pro

In the WebUI: Smart connect appears enabled even though it isn't and I still have all my split bands with different SSIDs. I cannot disable it. However I can see all my networks still under: Network page. This update has also correctly solved my issue of my primary 6Ghz radio not...

How do I configure asus smartconnect RT-BE92U kicking off devices from 6ghz

Yea thought about that but my phones and other devices are terrible at roaming and get stuck at the 2.4ghz band. Odd as my previous router the RT-AX58U did a pretty decent job at forcing devices to roam to 2.4ghz and the 5ghz band but it seems like my new one is just a wee bit off to my liking.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.2 Beta is now available for Wifi 7 devices

Currently using the new 3006.102.2_beta1 on the RT-BE96U. Seeing some pretty major bugs with Smart Connect rules. The Target Band options for both 5Ghz and 6Ghz exclusively have 2.4Ghz available. Routing is similarly busted

    iPhone 16 pro picks 5ghz instead of 6 (GTBE98 pro / BE96U mesh)

Silly question, but are you connecting the iPhone 15 Pro to your MLO SSID? I don’t believe the iPhone 15 Pro supports MLO, so it may be best to use the main (smart connect) SSID.

RT-BE86U - how to disable Smart connect?

...do that using the "Network" tab after turning off MLO. I couldn't get it to work, I could deselect the 2.4GHz. and 6GHz. bands from my "smart connect" main network, and was able to make a 5GHz. only network. But when I tried to make a 6GHz. only network using "add network" on the Network tab...

RT-BE92U - Guest Pro Network Support?

Currently I have nodes connected, AX88U and RT AX5400 in garage as backhauled hardwired nodes and the plan was to make the GT-AX16000 a node and remove AX5400. In that form does the Ai mesh use the other radios? Or am I just throwing more money to patch things instead of a full solution? Sorry...
