    TP-Link AV2 600 PA6010 Kit

AB, thanks for the links; the HPNA 3.1 is especially interesting in the world of Oomas and VOIPs. We have folks that still enjoy analog cable but eventually, we'll all be sold down the DRM river of digital cable. "What's wrong with blotchy TV?!!"

    USB N adapters?

(Speed, I doubt that Linksys will confess that my avatar is their original 1954 design for the AE3000, but if you do start chanting "assimilate! assimilate!", some of us might worry. Do you have Chief Bromden's number - just in case?) I need to open up that Win7 driver and see how it's laid...

    TP-Link AV2 600 PA6010 Kit

And back to these TP 6's... all three of my Fails are up and running across shop-neighbor buildings. I haven't installed the client software to measure speeds, but they disabled their shop's wireless and hooked up switches to allow all of their floor-equipment's on-line requirements.

    TP-Link AV2 600 PA6010 Kit

And this too is such a queer occurrence. North American homes are littered with coax, begging for this. All I can think is that the plethoria of sub-2ghz splitters made this a nightmare product-line that didn't have a 50-50 chance of success, but more like a 90-10 chance of failure. I haven't...

    Laptop 802.11ac adapter

Asc, in following up with AZA's warning, here's a Google Search Page for his suggested Intel 7260ac. Notice the top 5 photos. Those are all the "N" device, not the "AC" version. It's not until I scroll down the NEWEGG link that I see the $32.99 "AC+Bluetooth" product. (I'm not advocating...

    TP-LINK Archer C8 is out

NewEgg USA has them. Amazon DE does (€120). Amazon CO UK doesn't, although this could be a Scottish-vote thingy... or is it the Quebecois?!!

    TP-Link AV2 600 PA6010 Kit

I did not try a 200-600 mix-match, indeed, and while I considered it slightly, time issues encroached and I was always a bit wary that maybe the 200s wouldn't work suddenly - as if the 600s had dumped some garbage or thru some magnetic sun-spot, they'd ruined the rooms' wirings. But no... the...

    Lessons Learned from Antenna Experiments

Was there any mixing-matching antennas on the receiver unit (such a PCI card with detachables)?

    USB N adapters?

I guess it's useless to ask for a report on the lobotomizing LED rumors. Not that I actually would believe in such things...

    TP-Link AV2 600 PA6010 Kit

Wednesday was a longer re-visit to the Monday's 3 install-failures with this. Today, I ended up with two Fails but the more difficult, longer-range replacement worked this time, first time, "every" time. While these units don't seem to have a Master-Slave config, I did swap Unit A's location...

    Powerline AV2 1800 adapter

"Read SNB" aye. Heck, I'm three weeks here and still trying to remember where to re-locate so much sage advice! I do wonder how stultifying the nomenclatures are to Consumer Spending. One of my next lines of attack has to be trying to trick someone like Bob Silver into coughing up his...

TP-LINK Archer C7 AC1750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router Reviewed

I didn't complete the purchase, but I added it to my logged-in ID cart, gave credit card details, added in the $20 savings... that's as far as I went. But it let me continue forward. There is a "thru 9/22" date limit and when I've seen them go thru sales of such 6-day intervals, it's usually...

TP-LINK Archer C7 AC1750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router Reviewed

Jeepers... the Archer C7 v2 is on sale thru NewEgg at $79 with their email-list 'private' code, listed on the link above. It bothers me that Version 2's are ever a step down in performance. It always sounds like they found a new assembler contractor that uses more child-labor or, in lieu of...

Help me optimize my home WiFi: APs, Bridge, Repeater, Booster, Extender...

(Bob, same here. THanks, all.) If I had the chance to use Ethernet - superior speeds - even to free up 3 devices from WiFi, I'd think this would be helpful.

Does An AC Router Improve N Device Performance?

Thanks for this review. Of course, "Why didn't you include the other 28 brands?!!" won't even be mentioned here. cough cough... I wonder if there weren't blackened-eyes back at Asus HQ when they hand out team-awards for delivered product - "Mine's better'n yers... nyah nyah nyah..."...

    Powerline AV2 1800 adapter

(Oh gag, I'd become numb to the 10/100/1000 nonsense. Yeah - "I want my Ten Times Faster giga thru-put!!") One of the issues of these ACxxxx names is the product databases for consumer searches. When I search "AC1200", I don't want to see "AC900" or "AC1300". But that's up to each...

    TP-Link AV2 600 PA6010 Kit

Tuesday's work has 2 superior-performing replacements out of 3 attempts. By "fail", I meant "no connection/no 3 lights" in identical outlets from the variety of 200s (NetGear, DLink, ZyXel, LinkSys). I spent more time on Today's Fail without determining improved solution. I swapped the...

    TP-Link AV2 600 PA6010 Kit

Less positive news. I did 3 replacement-install attempts yesterday, and all 3 failed vs the 200's. Another 3 today and then I'll return for more dedicated hours to look at alternative plug-locations to the Day 1 attempts.

    USB N adapters?

That should be fine. Well... unless you believe those rumors. Y'know, about the AE3000's LED lobotomizing some people. I don't. I don't believe those at all... well... mostly not. Of course, if we never hear from you again... well...

Advice for planning network config at new townhouse

You see made-up cables from wall outlets? Why? Not me. That's why "punch down tool" is mentioned in the first place. Crimpers are for patches.
