[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

What I don't understand is what SMB has to do with causing this.....if that was the cause, then it would effect LAN to LAN transfers, which for me anyway, stayed normal. Only LAN to WLAN and WLAN to LAN was affected.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

Just a note to mention that I updated my AC68U to this version(384.6) from 384.5 and imedialty experienced the same slow wifi issues as I described in this tread: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/ac68u-lan-to-wifi-downlink-throughput-issue.46992/ I flashed back 384.5 and wifi is back to normal.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

So I see some posts about the Tmobile router model....how does one tell if they happen to have a converted/hacked TM-AC model then? Would it say in the router info page in the firmware? I bought an "RT-AC68U" off Ebay...it came in some white box. But the factory printing on the front upper...

    RT-AC68U hardware versions

Thanks! Looks like the newer version have tad newer cpu and clock speed. Not really something that would benefit me, as my current AC68U very rarely does it even break 50% CPU use or even use 50% RAM even when I am maxing out my LAN and wifi. I dont use the vpn or usb features.

    RT-AC68U hardware versions

I realize this is an old thread.... But I have H/W: A1 (bought it years ago from MicroCenter) I was looking to pick up a new AC68U put Merlin firmware on it to replace my folks ancient N56U. Is the newer H/W versions "better" than my A1?

Thinking of buying a ASUS AC5300 Tri-Band WiFi Gaming Router is this a good choice for me?

I have the AC68U on Merlin firmware. It is far better performance than when it was on stock. Is there really any advantage to getting the AC86U? The 68U already maxes out gig wire speed for LAN fine. My best wifi device supports 866 link rate...so the higher AC standards are of no use to me. I...

AC68U LAN to WiFi downlink throughput issue

Adding in some more details I left out, didn't think it was that relevant. Actually, I updated to Version 3.0.0.4.384.20942 2018/05/22 the day after it came out. I was on the version just released previous to it. It worked fine. I run tests after each firmware update to make sure nothing got...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.5 is now available

I wish u could unlock the channels that are locked in the USA models. I once had a Cisco E3000? that I flashed Tomato or DDWRT on and it allowed to use all channels. But only one of my wifi devices at the time could actually use those channels. I really...really could use those locked out...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.5 is now available

Well, then how does one explain the fact that, when I flash the official Asus Firmware...I have the issue. I flash yours, no issues. I just tested this 2x. (performing resets after each flash). Something has to be different between them. I had tired out your firmware out, like 5 years ago, but...

@RMerlin I just wanted to post here to tell you that flashing your firmware to my AC68U fixed the odd wifi issues I was having with the last few versions of the Official Asus Firmware. The issue I am referring to in the Offical Firmware is in this thread...

AC68U LAN to WiFi downlink throughput issue

UPDATE: I flashed Merlin firmware: RT-AC68U_384.5_0 This firmware resolved my issue. Infact, I see increased performance with file transfer speeds. So, I must surmise that the recent Official Asus firmware has some bugs or issues that were causing my wifi issue. EDIT: posted brief notice in...

AC68U LAN to WiFi downlink throughput issue

I suddenly have a strange issue with my Asus RT-AC68U, that I have had for many years now with very few issues. I frequently transfer files to and from my wifi laptop and wired desktop or NAS. I normally get (and have been getting for years) downlink and uplink speeds of 40-60MB's as reported...
