Tried that too...and it degraded with in minutes I am giving my ac56u with current firmware to a co-worker to use for a while....to see if he has the same issues as me.. Meanwhile, when I downgraded the firmware on my ac68u, wifi degraded within hours. Funny thing now though, I upgraded the...

    Ac68u Latest firmware. 3.0.0.4.376.1663

Well....got home from work today...and wifi is useless.... So much for downgrading to 3.0.0.4.374.5656 for the AC68U.... Is there any firmware that doesnt have this issue now? I wonder if flashing newer firmware updates the Broadcom chips firmware...or something...so that even...

    Ac68u Latest firmware. 3.0.0.4.376.1663

I havn't had that issue. I did have a hard time getting it to be on 80mhz....but that is a know issue, i believe, with he N+AC mode....you have to set it to "Auto" then apply, then you can change the channel. I have mine set to 149. Seems t be the best channel.

    Ac68u Latest firmware. 3.0.0.4.376.1663

I have been having issues with 5ghz wifi degrading to pretty much un-useable. (I posted about it in the Merlin threads.) My AC56U started acting up....so I replaced it with an AC68U. But now its doing the same thing. From browsing around here, I am kinda getting the impression that this...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.45 is out

There has to be something up with the Asus and their firmware of late. Now, my new AC68U with stock firmware....the 5ghz wifi just acted up. Link rate still normal, but practically no throughput. Speedtest over wifi only showed 1-5mbps....wired shows my full 50 down. File transfer...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.45 is out

I flashed my AC56U back to stock...still have issues...infact...they seem even worse. 5g Wifi degrades to unusable after a few minutes. (going to try a clean flash of stock firmware via recovery mode later) I don't have time to mess with it now. In the mean time...I picked up an AC68U at...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.45 is out

I just tried downgrading to .44....but same issues. Using my laptop in my living room, link rates are super low...1-24....when I first flashed merlin, and back when I was on stock, I never saw anything below 300. Not sure what is causing the degradation.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.45 is out

Ok...so I have been running this build on my AC56U for a week or so now.... Now I notice that all my wifi devices (only using 5ghz)are getting very slow speeds. Transferring files from my laptop(Intel AC7260) only get 1-2MB's. Windows reports the link rate as fine (866 when in same room as...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.45 is out

OpenVPN setup? I'm sure this has been asked before.... I just noticed that the OpenVPN Server setup in Merlin's firmware...is much more complex than stock Asus firmware is. Can someone toss me a link to a updated guide on how to setup OpenVPN Server on Merlin? I still have the stock...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.44 is out

Done that a few times....and done the setup wizard. I also just got a new phone, so there was no old data/app on it. I only started doing this after I flashed your firmware. Works fine with stock firmware....and yes...I did factory reset before and after flashing firmware. Its funny, one of...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.44 is out

One thing I have noticed on my AC56U is that the AiCloud app in android, shows my main desktop as always awake/online...so I can no longer use WOL. Very annoying. Least I can still just use my mobile browser and just go to the router GUI remotely and use WOL page.

Decided to give Merlin Firmware a try again...also decided to do a rest as the GUI was lagging and not loading. I rest and flashed newest Merlin build fo rmy AC56U....still having the GUI pages loading issue...(maybe it means the router is failing?) Anyway, where is the option to change the...

    ASUS RT-AC56U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.5656

U could always just flash the update....and if you start to have issues.....then do a full reset... I will admit, it has been a long time since I have done a full reset and full reconfigure of settings.....certainly quite a few firmwares ago.

    ASUS RT-AC56U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.5656

Those other models have different hardware..so changes in those firmwares may not apply to the AC56U. You can always try Merlin firmware...as he tends to keep that up to date....no idea what is newest version for the AC56U.

    ASUS RT-AC56U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.5656

Only firmware I see for that date is 3.0.0.4.374.134. Current is 3.0.0.374.5656 That is quite a jump...I would recommend, for best stability and performance.. a full reset to default before then after upgrade...and then set your settings....

    ASUS RT-AC56U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.374.5656

If you are coming for real old version...then a full reset and re-configure (do not load saved config file) is recommended. If it is a minor update, then no need to reset.
