Thanks. I'm glad to hear someone is not having issues with 7266. I'm still hesitant to upgrade my router.

    AIProtection

I have found this on the Trend Micro privacy policy: https://www.trendmicro.com/en_us/about/legal/privacy-policy-product.html I still would like to know what, besides URLs and malicious file "metadata", they capture, or specifically, what they don't capture.

    AIProtection

I have read the Asus FAQ on AIProtection (https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1012070/). However there is not much detail on how this works. I'm nervous about Trend Micro servers capturing login IDs and PWs. Is there a white paper on AIProtection? Thanks.

    VLAN Question

It all centers around configuring VLAN memberships. If your internet router is connected say to port 8 and port 8 is a member of all your VLANs, they will all have internet access. But the VLANs should not be able to talk to each other.

    Need VLAN capable router

Hello, Just getting 1GB fiber installed at my house. Looking for a wired 8-port VLAN capable router that does: 1Gbps routing, VLANs, QoS, VPN, etc. (Tried managed switches, but had problems which could not be resolved. Also don't want to do a Layer 3 switch if possible.) Any thoughts?

Netgear stated that: I "should be getting not less that 500 Mbps transfer speed at least." They want me to do more VLAN testing. I can not, since I returned the switch.

    Netgear GS108Tv2 VoIP options

I stand by my measurements, and Netgear tech support did the setup on my switch. I could only find the LAN - WAN thruput on the FVS318 firewall of 250Mbps. Then I found a 24port non-blocking switch with 2000Mbps thruput. I fully understand the non-blocking aspect of switches. But Netgear is...

    Netgear GS108Tv2 VoIP options

Why then does Netgear spec the LAN to WAN speed around 250 Mbps? I have seen this spec on several switches.

    Netgear GS108Tv2 VoIP options

Thank you for this info. I have used these guidelines. Netgear tech support had also been very helpful with my issues. However, in testing the GS108Tv2 for VoIP Vlan and general thruput performance, I have learned that this switch performance is rather poor. I have found that the thruput...

    Netgear GS108Tv2 VoIP options

I have created a VLAN using port7, intending to hook my VoIP phone to it. No fancy Cisco VoIP phone, and no computers hood to the phone. Is it true that I need a VLAN aware router to take advantage of the VoIP capability of this switch? I don't understand why that would be. All the switch...

VLAN How To: Segmenting a small LAN

If you remove the router and the pings fail, you have set up the switch correctly. If after reconnecting the router the pings are successful, the router is causing the problem, as was the case with my Asus router.
