Time Parental filter can be bypassed by changing the IP address

The support you can get here are for the features enabled or specific to the Merlin fork. Parental Control is an Asus feature. Not specific to or added by this fork.

Disabling the wifi for the selected client

Its been my experience that roaming (client moving from AP to AP) is really a function of the client device. Most client device vendors have not put good roaming configuration into the devices last time I was trying to optimize the roaming. The best implementation Ive found from a router/AP...

    ARP resolution issues

Did you previously run one or both of the APs in router mode and have something like YazFi guest wifi configured? I remember running my router as a router with YazFi and guest ssid's then putting the router into AP mode and the guest ssid's still being present. As if it was still able to at...

Private IPs going out to WAN?

Your router knows what scope is local either by dynamic routing or static routing. Any other ip it does not know about has whats called a "default route" which goes out you wan interface. If i dont know about it, send it to my gateway, which is your isp link. Also, many isp use the private...

Any Way To Run Pi-hole On Merlin

My personal flavor of choice is Adguard home. It is very similar in capability with a few built in enhancements such as DOH+DNSSEC integration. Both platforms continue to enable more features. Neither seems like the preferred dhcp server of choice for the LAN but either can do it if all you want...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.3 is now available

Aside from the (perhaps not to you at the time) obvious that running one vendors firmware on another vendors hardware is legally frowned upon; you wont get support if you do decide to pursue that path. At least not in any vendor specific, public forum. The Netgear R7000 and Asus RT-AC86u...

RT-ac86u running Merlin 384.17 (should) change back to Asus stock firmware, but which version?

If your going back to stock, I dont see a reason to do anything less than current stock rev. The vendor patches typically include the latest security and bug fixes. The primary benefit of using stock firmware is your getting the latest updates. Some of these do not hit Merlins fork until after...

    Enable ssh by default

I think merlin would be the final say on the subject but there are two things that come to my mind when reading your post. #1 Some of the code is closed source so compiling yourself seems unlikely. (dont quote me on this point) #2 Opening anything extra beyond what is needed initially is...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.3 is now available

Please open a new thread for your issue. What your asking and providing has zero to do with the code release thread you have posted in. Also, you will want to post either screen shots or all the data from the VPN director page in the Asus router gui. Along with model specific and issue specific...

QoS not working on latest version 386.3

Isn't traditional qos broken; like for a long time. Broken for a long time then fixed for some revisions and then broken again and since? Isnt that a part of why folks were told to use adaptive qos if they needed qos? Could be faulty or incomplete memory on my part. Here is a thread that sort...

Is there a better way to do this?

Unrelated to the question of enhancing the home vpn but relevant to my suggestion as well as treadlers post. I run adguard in place of pihole. Great functionality and easy to maintain. Which is why i suggested their app product for your mobile. Whatever you choose, enjoy.

Is there a better way to do this?

Roaming on a cellular network back to your home via vpn, only to then hairpin back out your home WAN AND then that data gets back to your home and through the vpn to your phone over the cellular network... VERY inefficient. Thats more a proof of concept practice than practical IMO. Just find a...

Is there a better way to do this?

I would look into an adguard app for the phone instead of vpn to home and back out.

Sure are sir. Apparently you have not uploaded the CA (or a valid CA file) file and its also complaining about no encryption (cipher) too.
