    RT-AC 1900P at Best buy

Does this mean that I can install the 68U Merlin FW on my AC1900P?

    RT-AC1900P, when will it happen?

Bought the RT-AC1900P from BBuy for $200 and it is installed and running. Upgraded FW to Version: 3.0.0.4.380.3264. V1 hardware. If/when will the RMerlin FW be available? If anyone wants me to do some testing, let me know, but be specific since I don't know too much about Asus routers yet...

    RT-AC1900P, when will it happen?

Search for RT-AC1900P. Our local BB has 4 of these in stock, and I will get one today.

    Asus RT-AC87U

The AC68U is great, but is slow writing to the USB. I might wait until the RT-AC1900P is available, whenever that will be.

    Asus RT-AC87U

But 20 people out of a 100 rated it 1 star. In my mind that is not good.

21% 1-Star ratings on Amazon. I guess I'll be looking for another router.

    Asus RT-AC87U

Hello, Are there any known issues with the Wireless dropouts, or other firmware issues with the ACC87U? I'm in the market for a new AC router for under $200 ... Thanks much, Dieter

More on RT-AC1900P... Product was released last month and has been shipped to several resellers. It is available thru: Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, etc. But no idea when. Per the Asus site ... ASUS RT-AC1900P Firmware version 3.0.0.4.380.1842. The first version of firmware for RT-AC1900P...

I had pre-ordered at $124, but cancelled the day before the first units shipped. Glad I did. The AC68U is now selling for $169. But am now considering the AC87U at $193 (but has a 22% bad review rate), or the R7500V2 at $188 (but Netgear has terrible customer service reviews). So what to do!

Based on Asus's FCC change request, it looks like they also have a RT-AC68U V2 with the 1.4 GHz processor. This upgrade will surely increase USB port thrughput.

Thank you. Just what I needed to know. For those of you NOT technically challenged, this makes for great reading of why the FCC had to come up with the NEW rules: Attachment 2 of: https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/kdb/forms/FTSSearchResultPage.cfm?switch=P&id=27155 and I like this chart...

So other than Power, what other specific radio parameters DO / CAN other firmware mess with? I'm just trying to figure out what the FCC is worried about.

Just curious. Does anyone know if there any way Asus can force a router firmware update without the owner having to install the update? I would hope not! Does the FCC lock-down only apply to routers sold after June? I have read that TP-Link is already shipping FCC compliant routers...

The RT-AC68A can no longer be found on Amazon. Not sure what will happen with the pre-orders. My pre-order is still in Amazon's system. Maybe I'll just wait for the RT-AC1900P, and cancel the pre-order. It is strange that no one seems to know for sure (except RMerlin), what Asus has done to...

Per https://wikidevi.com/wiki/Broadcom, 4 routers have the 1.4GHz BCM4709C0. The Asus AC5300, AC88U, the DLink 885L and the 895L. And now the AC1900P. I wonder who will be selling this one, and when.
