    New Router + UTM

The thread below contains information about what equipment is on reasonable price for home applications: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/wifi-enterprise-consumer.62991/ The fellow user @Chrisgtl recently purchased a x86 box to run pfSense on it and he's happy with the results...

    New Router + UTM

My advice to you is to get an RT-AC86U/RT-AX88U home router. No matter what happens to the idea of VPN Client on the router, at least you have usable piece of equipment. What you are going to use this x86 router box for if you find pfSense, Untangle, Sophos, whatever you decide to test... is...

    New Router + UTM

Qotom/Protectli are the most common choices for ready-made commercial product. All other Thin Client/SFF/USDT options are DIY. Both options have pros and cons, it's completely up to you to decide. What you are looking at can do VPN speeds up to what most commercial VPN services offer. Yes...

Troubleshooting Slow LAN Speed on RT-AC68U

I know. An attempt to specify another model matching the description results in "post awaiting moderation" warning. :) Let's see how it goes...

Troubleshooting Slow LAN Speed on RT-AC68U

ASUS AC 1900 is not a router model. I see post 30 as well. :)

Stability issue with RT-AC68U Firmware 384.15 Media Bridge mode?

The only firmware I found working stable with MediaBridge Mode on older RT-N66U and RT-AC66U MIPS routers was Asuswrt-Merlin 380.66. Anything else had intermittent disconnect issues. My wife had her PC connected to one RT-AC66U running 380.66, the router never dropped the connection for >1 year...

Troubleshooting Slow LAN Speed on RT-AC68U

I believe @terraj01 is talking about a different "reset" router.

    2x2 AC Access Point Roundup

Troubleshooting Slow LAN Speed on RT-AC68U

ASUS implemented overtime variety of "anti-resetting" techniques, so what exactly happens no one knows. You may ask for support whoever "reset" this router to something it never was.

    New Router + UTM

Better look at what's available/possible for you to use as x86 router. There are many types of CPUs, but most Qotom/Protectli etc. boxes come with few specific ones to chose from. What exactly do you need, what you are planning to run on it and what's the budget? Otherwise we can evaluate CPUs...

    AX88U with pfSense

OK... you're quite serious about this experiment. I like that. :)

Correct, and the only hope for faster resolution is to find beneficial effects in drugs we already have approved for something else.

    AX88U with pfSense

I see it's an experiment and kind of waste of a good AIO router as AP, but all you need to start with pfSense is 1 x WAN and 1 x LAN interfaces. WAN goes to the modem, pfSense gets ISP assigned external IP address. LAN goes to WAN port of the router, the router gets internal IP assigned from...

    AX88U with pfSense

What's the Wireless for on this pfSense box? VM Device (Modem Only) -> SFF PC (pfSense Router + Firewall) -> RT-AX88U in AP Mode (8-Port Switch + Access Point)

    New Router - R7800 vs AC86U - Am I Missing Anything?

Check your facts before you give advice. - RT-AC86U has 3x3 2.4GHz radio and 4x4 5GHz radio, the 4-th antenna is internal. - BCM4906 CPU used in RT-AC86U has hardware AES support and can actually do 250Mbps on OpenVPN.

    AC86U probably dead?

Something is wrong with this "configuration" and I'm not sure what is a called "router" and "main router". Is everything working properly on your main router, both wired and wireless? Is your RT-AC86U WAN port connected to a LAN port of your main router? Did you try your RT-AC86U in AP Mode...

OT - surviving pandemic from personal experience (no trolling, PLEASE)

See? You just answered your own question. What about HIV in Africa? I know we can't fix the World, but we can do some small things to help in our own way. A year education of a kid in South India is about $500, in a good school, with good school supplies... gives a little better chance for...

OT - surviving pandemic from personal experience (no trolling, PLEASE)

The main problem here is the fact there is no "we". People in many parts of the World die every day from common diseases just because well known common medications are not available to them. When 10.000 people die in a developed country this is an enormous tragedy. When 10.000 people die in...
