    CFE bootloader update

Is that the updated tool package? Looks like the previous version of nvsimple to me, maybe the reason for a different output than ifbb's and mine.

    CFE bootloader update

All the talk is about an error found in the update script that passes over information to build the new cfe with all needed nvram code. The update script has been fixed and users are trying to reupdate their cfe's. So, even though you've already updated to 1.0.1.3 you should do the whole...

    CFE bootloader update

While creating your new CFE did you see any errors at all? I've done two CFE updates and haven't had a brick yet. To create the new CFE without errors I had to change the CFE_rtn66u-1.0.1.3 folder and files permissions with chmod +x.

    Firmware 3.0.0.4.246 almost there

Are you referring to the AC model? I didn't see this in the RT-N66U change log only in the AC one. Also have the drivers been updated on the RT-N66U? Cheers

    CFE bootloader update

Mine says 1.0.1.3 now but I did a full back to CFE defaults wipe. This is how I did it: Unplug router. Press an hold WPS button on routers back and plug router back in. Wait about 30 seconds and then release the WPS button. Reconfigure settings.

    CFE bootloader update

    CFE bootloader update

I've been brave and updated mine. All went fine and haven't noticed anything strange yet. I've dumped the updated CFE from my unit and hex compared it against my old CFE, I kept a copy just in case, and they are different in alot of places. I assume that means it updated correctly. When I...

    CFE bootloader update

Over at the wl500g forums Ryzhov posted the same topic on updating the CFE, unfortunately it's all in Russian but you can get the drift of some of it. Saw a command there that changes a flag or something in nvsimple and applying it makes it build fine. Thing is the wl500g forum seems to be down...

    CFE bootloader update

I finally got it to build the new CFE without errors. The problem now is that it doesn't seem to want to update, after flashing the new one it does it in about 20 seconds and doesn't give any success/error feedback. When I check the CFE version after it's still on 1.0.1.2 even after a reboot...

    CFE bootloader update

With the cat/dev/mtd0 > ./ cfe.original command I couldn't get a cfe backup it kept erroring out. But this command works fine: Another problem: Got a bit further after a changing permissions with chmod +x but I'm to scared to flash tthe ne cfe as the size is so different:

    CFE bootloader update

Hi and thanks for posting this. I ask where did you get this updated cfe bootloader?
  18. G

    RT-N66R = RT-N66U (But . . .)

It might be possible to copy the CFE using this command and then retrive it from /tmp using winscp for example. The one gui ip login restriction is a bit of a pain especially if forget to logout and then try from another device, i.e phone browser or laptop to say a few.

    BIG UPDATE FW Version 3.0.0.4.220

Whatever file system format you use for the hard drive is transparent over the network, it's just recommended to use a native Linux file system. ext2 volume manager would be to access files on the drive plugged into your Windows box if you need that.

    Builds 3.0.0.4.220.18 are out!

The same thing more or less while accessing the system log tabs, precisely the wireless log one. The web server process was still running, checked with the top command. After fighting and trying to restart only that service, didn't find out how to, I gave up and rebooted. It happens when you...
